Ok, I've waited 4 months for anyone to post the original official industrial rockers.

The ones who actually coined the phrase, saying "it's industrial music for industrial people"

Since we've spent our time looking at the forefathers and---for one poster in particular, posting songs that aren't really industrial at all, I give you the OGs or rather TG's (in more ways than one)of industrial--- Throbbing Gristle

It would be too easy to play their freakout classic "Hamburger Lady" Instead this is Genesis's most accessible tune, since he is mocking the overly sunny-ness of my favorite guilty pleasure genre----

New Wave music

And now for the most famously reviled Industrial album of all time.

Q magazine called it the 4th worst album of all time

The book The Worst Rock 'n' Roll Records of All Time ranked it the second worst album ever

and Rolling Stone called it "the tubular groaning of a galactic refrigerator"

WHY??

Because nothing pisses off snobby rock critics more than when one of their darlings

(Think Radiohead or Beck today)

takes a complete left turn and makes a difficut record.

I'll be honest, I'm hit or miss with Merzbow, but I can sit back and enjoy EVERY Lou Reed album,

including this

In honor of the founder of WaxTrax passing I present you perhaps their most often played industrial track

and a lesser known track by a man that proves that you can do industrial while channeling Chuck D of Public Enemy

(Even if you hate rap stay listening for the breakdown at about the 1:00 minute mark)
