NOTE: My posts don't include spoilers. But (unless she notices and edits her post) Nerdcore's post below does. Just skip her post until you have seen the movie, mmkay?

I love M. Knight Shyamalan's films. So I eagerly anticipated this one.

If I recall correctly, critical reviews were lukewarm. Admittedly, I didn't like it as much as some of his other films, but nevertheless, I found it decently entertaining.

I was careful to avoid discovering spoilers of the ending before seeing it. So while I had a slight feeling I KNEW what the "twist" was going to be, I managed to keep it a secret from myself until actually watching it.

I would recommend it for entertainment value. Try not to be too disappointed if you worship M. for "The Sixth Sense" and "Unbreakable", which I found exceptional, but maybe think more along the lines of "Signs", which I personally found about on a "decent entertainment" par with this film.

Recommended.

Extras include a decent behind-the-scenes featurette, a pretty entertaining home-movie he made as a young kid, a boring diary by the actress (forget her name, but she's Ron Howard's daughter), and some other things I don't remember. Probably acceptable as a VHS rental as the extras aren't all that fantastic, just o.k.

I havn't seen the village yet but i agree with everything you said, He's pretty much the best director right now. Unbreakable is one of the best films of the past decade in my opinion.

Signs was good, it would be most directors best movie, but for him it was a tad less great than his first two.

I was turned off by the lukewarm reviews but if you say it is good then I'll be at videostore tommorow.

p.s. if you rent the dvd for unbreakable there is a hilarious movie he made when he was like 12 years old, it's basically him and 2 of his friends and it will make you laugh hard.
