National Novel Writing Month

November is National Novel Writing month. There is a yearly competition at http://www.nanowrimo.org designed to get you to stop procrastinating and start writing. You "win" by being disciplined and completing a 50,000 word novel in thirty days. This is the first year that it looks like I'll actually be able to participate and I wanted to get the word out to anyone here that might be interested. The Detroit regional kick-off party is at Woody's in Royal Oak on October 31st at noon. Check out the site! If enough of us participate, we can start our own "write-in" group. :) Here's my profile page: http://www.nanowrimo.org/eng/user/180794

SWEETNESS!

I wanted to participate last year and was too late. Hopefully my HD stays good or I can go hassle for a replacement if it dies and continue writing. I want to see how fast I can pump a decent huge-arse story out. *babbles 49,943 words out in incoherent excitement*

If only I had the discipline to finish one of my stories...

That's why the website and community exist: to help you develop the discipline! I've been trying to get this thing written since 2006...

I'm too lazy to even click the link... :X

I hope more people give it a shot. The most I've ever written thus far in a story is 10,000 words fairly slowly so I don't consider myself a veteran at this.

taysteewonderbunny should do this.

I salute any and all of you who take part, and I hope one of you wins.

Fuck, I can't even write a screenplay in 30 days let alone a novel. I do have a series of 5 that I want to write, but I don't even have a name for the protagonist yet let along an outline.

Both my ex and my older daughter are participating...

Is it cheating if you're done with a lot of it? Even though I'm done with much of it...there are three of them, so maybe that levels the playing field a bit?

I have written two... and a short story that I am trying to get published next month.
