Hello all,

I'm moving to Grand Rapids this summer and thought I'd get the casket moving. Er, I mean the ball rolling. I'm interested in meeting some cool folks before I get my silly ass up there.

I'm originally from Chicago, but am currently in Cincinnati.

That's all folks!

I had some burritos earlier sorry.

I've been spinning around the DGN site. I'm under the impression that Detroit has a cool goth scene? I could be wrong, as there ain't spit to speak of here in Cincy.

Hey there!

In my opinion, Detroit is a very kool "goth" scene. Im from across the pond tho in Canada, so I don't live there, so I don't know about it 24/7. lol, but there are a couple of kool clubs and such.

Hope when you get where your going its a good place for you!

Hello.

From just walking around Detroit you wouldn't think it had a big active goth scene but dig a little deeper and it does.

Hello and welcome!

Thank you everyone!

I'm guessing that when I move to GR I'll be venturing to Detroit. It never occured to me that it was closer than Chicago.

There's also the whole 'forbidden fruit' aspect. I've read a lot of the horror stories in the news about Detroit, but I've never actually been there. I think I'll have to take a bite.

Hai. :)

It depends upon where you go and how stupid you are; Detroit can be a wonderful town. I've lived within city limits several times for several years all told and had not a scratch on me. Welcome! Hope you are able to visit us often.

This 👆 definitely goes with what I said in my other post - getting old sucks. Seems like *everything* takes longer and takes more energy out of me than it used to. Really need to work on my diet and exercise, I've found the older I get, the more important those things have really become...

Well we were supposed to leave last night, but life has a way of making plans for you. I'm about to get up and get ready to go on our vacation. Had and still have a lot to do.  Not easy to just up and leave a ranch with a lot of animals and things that need taken care of. We even have people here to watch and tend things while we're gone, but still.   I had to change the radiator in my car before we leave - got that done last night. Took a lot more out of me than I thought it would, so by the time I finished I had little energy for anything else. Today I just have a couple more quick things to do on the car, like cleaning it and packing stuff. Couple of minor things to do around the ranch today, as well.   I figure we should be on the road this evening sometime. I'm looking forward to it. We're going to see the wife's side of the family, people I actually like,  in Vegas and AZ. Should only be gone for a few days, maybe a week. Going to the Grand Canyon and Lake Mead and all kinds of stuff in between, so I'm pretty stoked. I LOVE the Southwest.   Wish me luck that my car survives the desert! (Hence new radiator) 🤠👍

Sometimes sleep can be a scary thing.  I passed out so hard at 4:54pm today.  Yesterday wiped me out with rentals, appointments and helping a lost dog get back home.  Fortunately, I found him on Facebook and contacted the owners and he was picked up before nightfall.  But I think I totally overdid it and paid for it today in the middle of handling business.  Thankfully it was some work at home stuff.   I definitely do not like being that kind of tired.  It's like the World could end and I'd wake up afterwards trying to find out what happened.
