bean Posted June 8, 2005 Posted June 8, 2005 Brains on the wall, a fresh coat- done by me. I can't paint anymore.
bean Posted June 9, 2005 Author Posted June 9, 2005 Yes. I like to leave my work up for interpretation. Each person will have their own idea of the poem's meaning. I know what it means to me, but it could have the opposite meaning to someone else.
DarkenedCharm Posted June 9, 2005 Posted June 9, 2005 I am glad you leave it all up to interpretation. What I interpret from it comes from my long history of learning tons from my mother, who is a psychiatric nurse. It's a great poem, to be sure. But I won't be laughing.
bean Posted June 10, 2005 Author Posted June 10, 2005 Thanks. I was actually feeling suicidal when I wrote it, so there is the obvious meaning there, but then there are days when I'm really happy, and it means something completely different. Like I said, each person will see it differently, there is no right or wrong interpretations/reactions to my work. You see it with your life expereinces.
Sybil Posted June 10, 2005 Posted June 10, 2005 wow.. see for me i took it as "you" murdered someone, and were cuffed, dragged and strapped to a table in a ward somewhere.. i guess i just told on myself, somehow..
bean Posted June 10, 2005 Author Posted June 10, 2005 I like hearing other people's interpretations....an interesting take on it, Sybil. I hadn't thought of that

Guest Megalicious Posted June 30, 2005 Posted June 30, 2005 I dont know why ... I keep coming back to this poem bean .... its so sad and yet i can help but read it atleast once a day .... I reminds me of Jim carrolls Sure...... which is a poem that is very short to ....which allows the reader to get their own feel for it and interpret in a way they can relate to.... in its irony.. I really like it bean .. though it often makes me sad .....

bean Posted August 23, 2005 Author Posted August 23, 2005 I'm literal, so I picture a giant brain painted on the wall with you laying on the ground passed out next to the wall. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> That is fucking awesome...it would make for a really cool painting..too bad I suck at that, lol =)
