Scary Guy Posted June 10, 2005 Posted June 10, 2005 The Polterguist (sp?) theme has children singing. In certain instances it can be really cool.

I think... <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Isn't it a shame that a great psychedelic band like Jefferson Airplane could become a cheesed out 80's band...just because of a few green pieces of paper
The_Dark Posted June 10, 2005 Posted June 10, 2005 yes, the evolution was: Jefferson Airplane Jefferson Starship Starship As for the song that gets stuck in my head... Moving to the country, going to eat a lot of peaches... Or on those stressfull days... Crazy... Crazy for feeling so...
pomba gira Posted June 11, 2005 Posted June 11, 2005 The Polterguist (sp?) theme has children singing. In certain instances it can be really cool. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Yeah... Pink Floyd "Another Brick in the Wall" comes to mind... but in general, the ratio of mad wack: wicked sweet for singing children's choruses is about 1000:.001 & you were only off by one letter... it's "poltergeist"
Scary Guy Posted June 11, 2005 Posted June 11, 2005 Um... I can't remember who does peaches, I want to say PotUSoA Crazy is easy, patsy cline? OOH first one yes, second one NO Willie Nelson wow I should have known that

Fierce Critter Posted June 15, 2005 Posted June 15, 2005 M's "Pop Muzik" is a favorite of mine. It was released in 1979 when I was still in grade school, and is probably responsible for my musical tastes ending up on the New Wave track. As for that godforsaken Starship song, that can join Rupert Holmes' "Pina Colada Song" on my list of songs that will result in a sonic boom from the speed my hand obtains as it rushes to turn the radio to a different station. I can't stand anything that's too repetitive, or oddly, that includes pizzicato strings or similar sounds. For instance, "Walking on Broken Glass" by Annie Lennox, or worse, "Here Comes the Rain Again" by Eurythmics, some Enya songs, etc. That sound just grates on me. The Police's "Wrapped Around My Finger" and "King of Pain" fall under the repetitive, annoying melody trash can for me. And I've always hesitated to admit this, 'cause I know she's popular with people on this board, and seemingly with goths period - but I absolutely despise Tori Amos. I thought I'd like her when Little Earthquakes came out and I heard "Silent All These Years". But she quickly got on my nerves, and an ex boyfriend really, seriously didn't help either when he once whispered in my ear during an intimate moment, "sing to me in a whisper voice like Tori Amos." I don't do whisper voice. And do not ask a woman to, in any way, act like another woman during intimate moments. Never, never, ever, never. Just no.
bean Posted June 15, 2005 Posted June 15, 2005 I used to work as a florist in the mall and around xmas they would play nonstop chirstmas music....8-10 hours of the stuff made me hope that someone would come rob the store and shoot me.

Not your normal stuff. Type O Negative's "Red Water (Christmas Mourning)" and London After Midnight come to mind among other things.

The same 20 songs in a loop for hours on end. I thought about slitting my wrists with a box cutter :blink

I find Tori Amos incredibly annoying, & have never understood how she attained cult status. I used to work as a florist in the mall and around xmas they would play nonstop chirstmas music....8-10 hours of the stuff made me hope that someone would come rob the store and shoot me. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> That is indeed nightmarish... the only xmas music I can tolerate is Gary Hoey & some of the Trans Siberian Orchestra stuff. The holiday season is depressing enough w /out having to listen to the same lame-ass "music" every time you leave the house.
