Personally...i'm all about this weather...just worried about the damn fishflies...they're gonna hatch soon....and i live 6 houses from the water...for those of you that live on the east side...you know what i'm talking about...for those of you that don't...hope it stays that way

WTF is a Fishfly?

Fishflies are these insects that live near the great lakes, for about one week in the year they come out to spawn and end up covering everything with carcasses, It is really gross for a while, there are just thousands of little insect bodies in the waves comming off of the lakes. I remember a a gas station I stopped at once on the way home from Cedar point, and the bodies were literaly making crunching noises as I drove into the parking lot.

Its even worse in that 24 hour span when they're alive...and they're swarming on every light source around...I think this year I'm gonna fill up on gas downtown...just so I don't have to deal with it.

We have horseflies around here. They are mostly out in the country and outlying areas of the suburbs, and will start coming out here in a week or two. They are just enormous black flies that look exactly like houseflies on Miracle Grow, and are ugly as sin, but they BITE...

tell me about it !!!! god im use to dry heat and im fucking dying here LOL !!!! I just dont get it ... its freezing during the winter ... hot and  humid during the summer LOL .... and why did i leave cali again ...... OH YEAH !!! LOL .....

Heh, see the dry heat is only okay if it's in the low 90s, beyond that it just parches you. I used to live in Tucson, and once it got to be 110+ humidity or no humidity it was just too fucking hot

I don't mind this weather all that much mostly because I'm preferential to warm weather but I do wish my air conditioner weren't on the fritz...

We have central air thank goodness. I would not be able to cope without it. And my place of work is frigid as hell so that's kewl.

I do need however to get my air working in my car. It needs to be recharged or whatever. I can not stand it any longer and having the windows down and the sun roof up still does not help much. I hate sweating!

Yeah I haven't been out much myself. I can't bear the humid heat and just wanna hurry up and get back to my cool house.

I've been bitten by horseflies at the beach. They suck. The heat brings out the nastiest bugs. Mosquitos love me. The little pricks....

I am so fortunate because where I live there are bats. Yes, bats love mosquitos and every now and then I sit outside at dusk and watch these creatures take away those ugly bloodsuckers. It's also cool just watching the bats zoom across the sky just above me.

Bats are cool--we talked about them in my neuroethology class last term. They're great for getting rid of mosquitos. Apparently when they seem to divebomb your head, they're actually eating bugs that are buzzing around you....

We are putting up a bat house this summer in our yard... I love the little guys.

I haven't had any divebomb me but a few have gotten within 10 feet of the ground. These bats have been very good to me. I haven't been bitten by any mosquitos so far this year.

I love it.  I lived in Florida for a little bit, and never got used to the cold again...this is great.  The only reason I don't like the humidity is because my hair gets frizzy and poofy.  That is where a cute little doo-rag comes in handy.  I hate AC.  It makes my nose stuffy...I guess if I had a choice and it came down to it, I would rather be hot than cold......

I love how we complain that it's too cold in the winter, but then summer comes and we complain about it being too hot.....Where is the happy medium?  Somewhere in Ohio I hear....

and ya know, the weather doesnt check with me in preparation each day.. if it did my vote would be sunny and hot or warm and stormy..

Yes... bats are my friends... for that reason mainly, and bats are about as likely to attack you as chipmunks are.
