And for the ICP discussion up there: I don't really care about juggalos and juggalettes that much except for the fact that they come and fuck up alot of the concerts that I am at. They started a huge fight at A7X, another at Cradle of Filth, another at Manson, another at WEIRD AL at Summerfest. They have turned into what I call a cancer of the concert system...they must be stopped. I don't know how things were back in the day...but its really fucking stupid now...

in regards to ICP I have noticed that within the scene there are juggalos and juggalettes. Am I missing a connection here? I know they dress up like evil sadistic clowns but I just cant seem to wrap my head around the scene people who dig them and their music. I guess it will be one of those mysteries my brain will not know unless its explained to me. I just dont link hardcore gangsta shock rap to the scene I am into.

Psssht. Juggalos should be the least of anyone's worries with people listening to bands like My Chemical Romance, Atreyu, Panic at The Disco, HIM, Paramore, Good Charlotte, and considering themselves "goth" (i.e. see 90% of the teeny-boppers who have a Vampirefreaks account, hence why I DON'T have one, I don't want to be lumped in with emo kids). THAT...I will never fully get. At least ICP and Gangsta rap kind of stuff is about darkness, brutality, etc type stuff...but how is EMO supposed to be GOTH? If you're someone that likes a few "emo" songs here and there, you're not the big offenders I'm talking about. There's ONE MCR song I kinda like for instance. I'm talking about people who shit out emo and call themselves goth just because they threw on some dreadfalls and vinyl (which isn't even goth actually, it's more cyber-industrial/rivethead, but whatev )

I'll accept Juggalos ANYTIME compared to these posers running around listening to emo crap as listed above and calling themselves goth for it.

Juggalos are usually also not trying to pretend to be something they're not...well except badasses and literate  . But they do not run around calling themselves "goth" where as these Emoposters do. So goth people, since many "dark" qualities are shared between goth/rivetheads and Juggalos, sometimes have Juggalo friends or may cross over and listen to that type of stuff.

For instance...I'm a fairly big fan of Tech N9ne who is technically "Juggalo related". He raps about REAL shit, actual issues, terrifying things, etc, but does so with more intelligence and tact (and talent) than horribly shitty ICP.

Good you noticed it. Now back to the topic at hand.

Is it bad that I've always had a fairly deep appreciation for Eminem?

I live in Warren and have been around the area for a long time. Maybe it's just that when I listen to stuff like Lose Yourself or 8 Mile like I did earlier I feel at home....in the ghetto.

Everyday I leave work I always say to myself "...and it's back to this 8 Mile road!" My house is a half a mile from where he grew up at.

Yes, and I like it particularly because I can relate to some of it or have people near and dear to me who can.

Truth be told most the music I post is cause of how it relates to my life issues at one time or another. Others may be based on mood or moving on to better things as they say. To me it isn't just a song but a way of life some get it some don't. Like Jay Z said if you hate my lyrics you can press fast forward lol.

HOLY F%$KING SHIT THERE IS SOME TERRIBLE MUSIC HERE!

I don't even know where to begin.

I realize that what qualifies as good music is subjective, so I definitely won't say

that ICP is awful awful awful music.

Especially since one of my best friends, Pomba Gira, is a juggalette.

(Although, you'd be hard pressed to lump her in with

the young white trash

rolling down the potholed streets of Hazeltucky

in their 93 Grand Am coupe with the flames on the side

and their hands in the air to "Fuck the World" )

Of course, I don't want to pick on people.

I mean, it's not bad at all that Chernobyl has an appreciation for Eminem.

He has some genuine talent

(I would save my scorn for if she praised Lady Gaga---

but I KNOW she's too hardcore to ever fall for a pop sensation like that--- wink wink :fear:)

I also agree with her that, in contrast to emo bands like My Chemical Romance, ICP and almost all of the artists mentioned here never claim to be even remotely goth, so you can't blame them.

(Although I am a bit confused when Fairy Gothmother claims to "have gotten a more hardcore goth thing going on" when she posts musical tastes across several threads that are almost completely nu metal angry white-boy rock.)

There's nothing wrong that or with liking different styles or groups. It's just--they're not even remotely goth.

I think everyone should listen to whatever makes them happy,

even music that's the aural equivalent of ripping off your ears and running them through a woodchipper.

It's just odd to see people's "OMG THAT'S MY SONG" be the antithesis of any of the music promoted on the board.

-----------------------

Anyway, I'm going to go out on a limb and actually post something you don't hear everyday on 96.3 or 89x,

This QUITE LITERALLY is my song---
