Eight years sobriety

This past weekend, we all celebrated time of sobriety at the Winners club. I picked up my blue chip for eight years. Eight years of no alcohal, that was a mild stone.

Congratulations on your milestone!

It feels awesome, doesn't it? I have about 8 years heroin-free and it is the defining accomplishment of my life thus far. I know it sounds cheesy but I wake up mornings feeling deep gratitude that whatever the day may bring, I won't have to spend half of it trying to run down dope money and dealing with all the attendant bullshit.
