Hi all - I stumbled upon this site just last night... quite possibly my most rapid lurk-to-signup ever.

I will be moving to Battle Creek (or thereabouts) soon, coming most recently through a very conservative, dusty little town in Texas. Yeah, I'm ready to move on...

Anyway, ya'll - I mean YOU ALL - seem nice and weird enough. So hi. :)

Current location? Er... Texas. Battle Creek shortly.

Where from? multiple cities in the northeast

Gender? eff

Work? in thee sciences

School? way too much of it... I didn't think it was possible, but now I do

Kids? only the 4-legged kind

Married/Single? so nosey!! I'm just looking for friends, you dirty old man.

Hobbies? oh, crap... a lot of things. art, photography, horses, dogs, old cars/drag racing, reading, dancing (belly, formally), planting stuff, exploring, running, learning, and I used to go to clubs when I lived within 6 hours of one... not so much recently. Oh, and apparently I move across the country a lot.

How Did You Find DGN? yay, google

Other Stuff? Dance parties with my dogs are great, but I miss doing it alongside other humans. (Sometimes.) Hope you can BRING IT, Michigan!

Other, relevant info: I do NOT like zombies. I don't get that whole thing. Maybe it's because I deal with so much braaaaains in my daily life...sorry, they are not appetizing. You, however, may continue to love zombies and not get hated on by me. I come in peace, you zombie-loving weirdos.

Things I DO like: rivetheads ...make my heart go fuzzy. And this emoticon: :horse:

hey! thanks for the welcome.

actually, the place in TX I've lived for the last few years makes nearly anywhere else seem like an upgrade - you guys have trees(!!), natural running water (like creeks and stuff!), people drive the speed limit (not 5 mph under in the passing lane), and well, it's not Texas. :whistle:

so I will just stay psyched until I actually move and reality sets in... :biggrin:

      About to head up to Roseville to return this rental and pick up my truck from the auto shop.  It is supposedly sporting a newly fabricated frame rail...I don't think they are referred to as "chassis" anymore as I see the confusion in shop owner's eyes when they ask me if I'm looking for "body work?".   But I do find it interesting that I told the owner that I worked direct with OEM parts and yet he still wrote me up an invoice with overpriced OEM parts from companies I used to host at the place I used to work for.  With that said, I'm expecting a stellar job for the amount I paid.   ...else, there will be some talk negotiations.

      ~~~~~ Definitely wishing you luck.  Do enjoy yourselves.   But I have to admit, the first thing that came to mind was does roadside assistance reach the desert? 😬
      ~~~~~ Yeah, it's like something happened to my metabolism this past Winter and when I came out of hibernation, that AARP Join Request started looking like something to check into.

      This 👆 definitely goes with what I said in my other post - getting old sucks. Seems like *everything* takes longer and takes more energy out of me than it used to. Really need to work on my diet and exercise, I've found the older I get, the more important those things have really become...
