Sorry to hear that Sooth... but, now that you know for sure, you can start taking proper care ov yourself .

AFA getting yourself the health care you need- first, are you employed? If not, or even if you are & make less than 150% or so of the federal poverty level, you should qualify for Medicaid or one of the new state low-income health care programs. Go to your local FIA office, or better yet, see if your clinic can make you a social work referral. Even if you choose not to do that, or think you won't qualify, make sure your provider knows that this is an issue. A lot of times they can give you samples of medications... plus some pharmaceutical companies have programs now where you can get free or reduced-cost meds & supplies. When I worked at the county health dept. here, a lot of our patients with diabetes or hypertension totally depended on samples- they could never have afforded to pay for their meds.

There are all kinds of resources out there for people in your situation- you just have to have the gumption to get out there & find them, and most importantly, if someone tells you "no", don't leave until they give you another option.

Please feel free to IM or email me if I can help you with any information- I worked in health care/human services for a long time so I still have a good idea how things work & what's available.

It appears someone is digging up Sooth's old posts ... there are a few of them on the board ...

This one, however, puts the current Healthcare debate into perspective.
