DJ Nocker Posted April 3, 2010 Posted April 3, 2010 Im looking for the most draining movies you can think of, movies like Cannibal Holocaust or Philosophy of a Knife. Movies that when you are done watching them, there is a sigh of relief. Not because it was a bad movie, but because the movie was so bleak, depressing, without hope ect, that you are just happy the experience is over. Any help would be appreciated. And dont say requiem for a dream please... I thought that movie was terrible.

Simon Bar Sinister Posted April 3, 2010 Posted April 3, 2010 I Stand Alone (directed by Gaspar Noe) is the first one that comes to mind.
DJ Nocker Posted April 3, 2010 Author Posted April 3, 2010 I Stand Alone (directed by Gaspar Noe) is the first one that comes to mind. Hmm...I do love "irreversible" so I should check out Gasper's other stuff... (RFAD stunk, probably because I have 0 sympathy for druggies.) Ill look up "The Road" as well, thats the one with vigo mortenson if i remember...

prick Posted April 3, 2010 Posted April 3, 2010 I dont know if this is what your looking for but 'Boys dont cry" is very disturbing and ends on a very bad note. Its also a true story.
taysteewonderbunny Posted April 3, 2010 Posted April 3, 2010 "Osama" might do the trick, or "L'Humanite." Or you can watch that 9-hour Holocaust documentary the eternal has been threatening to ruin my movie night with.
Epic_Fail_Guy Posted April 3, 2010 Posted April 3, 2010 I'd have to say Lord of the rings, the last one (3rd.. cant remember it's title) Only because I was extremely stoned, and when watching a movie while stoned, i'm like super involved in it as if it may be a reality i'm remembering. Also, like it's other two movies, it is extremely long. Also, Texas Chainsaw Massecre's "The Beginning" simply because it was not entertaining, it was like watching an extremly gory "Many Faces of Death" Also, Jackass #2, all they did was play pranks on eachother, it was not even funny, but dull... and well.. the drinking of horse cum sent me over the edge and I ejected it from my DVD player right after that and returned it.
~Tszura~ Posted April 4, 2010 Posted April 4, 2010 Atonement This movie was not draining, or depressing until the very end. Hope floats? Well, not with this movie.
Simon Bar Sinister Posted April 4, 2010 Posted April 4, 2010 Training Day. Dogville Dancer in the Dark those last 2 sucked balls, btw.
DJ Saint Posted April 4, 2010 Posted April 4, 2010 Footloose. The emotional connection I had with those kids when they broke the towns law to hold that dance... Inspirational, motivating!
Destroit Posted April 5, 2010 Posted April 5, 2010 How has nobody said The Doom Generation yet? That's definately a movie that can make a mixed crowd go from super friendly and social to awkward, panicked and withdrawn in under an hour. It even has a Skinny Puppy cameo in the very beginning and Ogre has like, oh maybe, one line. E few of those mentioned, I wonder if its a joke (lol footlosse, marc) I own Salo, but thanks for posting, Joey. LMAO, I remember I played Salo at deadline once and everyone just looked at me like "WTF is this!?" I didnt find Doom Generation, return of the king, jackass or TCM:beginning draining really, and I though Dancer in the Dark was prety dumb as well...but I will check some of the others mentioned. ALSO THANKS TO WOHOEVER GOT MY NAME CHANGED, NOCKER LIVES! ...rawr

Guest Megalicious Posted April 6, 2010 Posted April 6, 2010 Adding The Pawnbroker. Oh and Pink Floyd The Wall. I have been known to wrap myself up in a fetal position for days after... but perhaps that is because it "holds" something personal, in which I have emotionally invested and projected on to it....
