Darkmatter Posted April 5, 2010 Posted April 5, 2010 I just thought that this guy derserves his own thread here. We all know him. We all love him (or hate to love him). For the past 8 years this man has been the epicenter of my inebriation. I swear that sometimes he just has it in for me. I'm standing there saying "I'm not gonna do shots anymore guys, i just get way to drunk". So what does he do? He pours me one of his mystery shots for while we wait for the drinks..."Did I drink it you ask?"...You get your ass i did! Why do i go back to him you ask? Because so many of the kick-ass stories I have of City are an indirect result of this mans lethal concoctions...and a few of the not-so-good ones. But I always say that life without some risk is worse than death. Lets have a big hooray! for the Sultan of Stupor. Our Marvin. May he continue to pour for many more years!
Oh_My_Goth Posted April 5, 2010 Posted April 5, 2010 Though I do not go to CC any longer I will give KUDOS to Marvin

Eevee Posted April 5, 2010 Posted April 5, 2010 I am not of age to have been able to try one of Marvin's drinks yet.

Joey Deadcat Posted April 5, 2010 Posted April 5, 2010 All great: Marv, Bishop, and Anita. Sandahl, too, when she used to work there!

Joey Deadcat Posted April 5, 2010 Posted April 5, 2010 Rarely up at CC but still know how they do it.
n0Mad Posted April 5, 2010 Posted April 5, 2010 I'm actually going to take the other side on this one. I don't enjoy getting wasted, puking, and doing crazy things I'll never remember. I like getting a little tipsy and maybe even drunk on occasion, but I still like to be in control, drink responsibly, and never drive under the influence. Because of that, I will only ever drink beer at City Club because I know exactly what I am getting, what it will do to me, and how long that will take. I enjoy mixed drinks, but I'll never do those at City 'cuz I don't know how much of what goes into them, and I'll never do shots. There are just too many variables involved and it may lead me down a path I don't want to go. Everyone else may love Marvin's drinks, but I prefer to stay safe.

So says my permanently designated driver! I chose well. Generally, I get my gin and tonic from Bishop because he loves the Bombay Sapphire about as much as I do. Nonetheless, I have been known to partake of Marvin's mystery shots--definitely a repeatable experience, though, as I am also not a fan of passing out, I elect to consciously inhibit its frequency to no more than once per weekend.

Simon Bar Sinister Posted April 5, 2010 Posted April 5, 2010 I have no idea which bartender Marvin is - I only order bottled water there.
Destroit Posted April 5, 2010 Posted April 5, 2010 (edited) I personally have come to the conclusion, when I was off my tits from too many long islands, that Marvin is indeed a Lvl 99 Drink Wizard with cute little hats that boost his mana and defense. I may be wrong on this but I doubt it.
