Reports are circulating that Type O Negative frontman Peter Steele has passed away due to heart failure. Less and less it's sounding like a rumour/hoax.

Yeah, I logged onto Facebook with a post from Stymie on what had happened. Entered the scene after trying to find a club that played Type O now and then and found City Club as well as Ascension UK. Saw the news on typeonegative.net and they said a statement will be made later on. I knew he was looking haggard a couple of years ago when I saw him last in Cleveland. Almost saw this coming soon.

According to what I've read, Peter had been sober. But the heart failure could be due to all the damage the drugs did to his heart. Apparently before he died, he had been sick for a few days.

I'm glad I saw them finally out in Grand Rapids in 2003 with Lacuna Coil. Now, it turns out that it would be the only time I would.
