So Comic Con is coming may 14 to the 16th. Anyone plan on going?

Oooo that sounds fun.I might have to see if I can go. I never been to a comic con before. I wanna go to a cosplay/anime convention too.

NOOOO.

Its so soooooon.

If I had known ahead of time...I could have my Harley Quinn outfit already to cosplay in. I am disappointment. :wallbash:

Right across the highway from where I work. Too bad I have to work... or won't be nearby. Not that I'm a big comic fan anyways. Maybe I'll bring my camera and shoot all the weirdos.

I really want to go but Im not sure if I have the money. You can get some really great art work at that show.

Why is the Motor City Comic Con so PATHETIC when compared to Chicago's, New York's or best yet San Diego. They get writers and artist like Neil Gaiman, Dave McKean, Ashley Woods, Josh Howard, Ben Templesmith, etc... Years ago at the Chicago Con I met Robert Crumb who invited my friends and I to party with him and his friends that night. (We did).

Detroit gets basically something such as the guy who drew some little known Archie comic rip off in the 50's (and hasn't drawn in 40 years) and a washed up 70's TV star as the main attractions. Come on Detroit, step it up!

Doubt I'll go to the comic con but instead take a road trip out to a Jackson, MI comic store.

Nostalgia Ink has a crazy amount of back issues to fill out the collection. I've managed to find some insane things in this gem of a store.

and I also suggest Vault of Mindnight in A2, Detroit Comics in Ferndale and Green Brain in Dearborn.

I can tell you why, actually.

Detroit's organizers are cheap. They barely pay jack shit, while others pay decent fees with good accommodations.

Heh, the question was redundant. but thanks and agreed the show always seems cheap compared to what you pay for. Perhaps it's time somebody organized a BIGGER and BETTER Comic show in Detroit.

The guest list this year is actually pretty decent despite said cheapness of the promoters. I'm looking forward to going.

A little over a week away and I guess saturday is their cosplay day but I can only afford one day and my girl can only go friday so thats when Im going. Im on the hunt for some collectables!

Yeah, I was thinking of going on Saturday with DJ Nocker...the only problem is its also a close friend's 20th birthday. And I suppose it is a good thing I have yet to have my Harley Quinn outfit. I'd rather cosplay at a bigger convention.

Yeah...it'd be weird to cosplay my first time at such a small convention, too. More people will pay attention to me at a smaller one.

For the Star Trek: TNG nerds, Marina Sirtis confirmed for MCCC just a few short days ago.

My dance competition is on Sunday so we have extra practices this weekend and then I work.

I'll go. Kinda starting to be broke, but hope autographs won't be too expensive nor will pictures with celebs and comic people.
