Raev Posted May 21, 2010 Posted May 21, 2010 I just want to take a moment and say- I do have much love for the Detroit area DJs spinning at our clubs and events. You guys stay on top of music, try to keep the masses dancing, invest a lot of time and money into your trade and what do you get in return? Criticism. Well, I want to take a moment and say - thanks for doing what you can to keep us dancing and hearing new shit.
phee Posted May 21, 2010 Posted May 21, 2010 Good thread sir.... (They will def play more your requests now!)
pleasurekatzen Posted May 21, 2010 Posted May 21, 2010 Your appreciation is... well, appreciated! I appreciate not only the other DJ's that I work with, but the people that make it out to support what we're doing. It makes all the time/money/effort especially worth it
Raev Posted May 21, 2010 Author Posted May 21, 2010 Good thread sir.... (They will def play more your requests now!) Pleasurekitten has always been pretty request friendly. I don't think I've ever requested a song from the others.
prick Posted May 21, 2010 Posted May 21, 2010 I do agree that we have some awesome D.J.s in this area!
Onyx Posted May 21, 2010 Posted May 21, 2010 I do agree that we have some awesome D.J.s in this area! Yes we do. It takes a bit of travel and visiting other clubs and events to truly appreciate Detroit DJs. (Philadelphia, Chicago, Orlando - Detroit has always beat the hell out of any of them so far in my experience).
Simon Bar Sinister Posted May 21, 2010 Posted May 21, 2010 I do agree that we have some awesome D.J.s in this area! yes, we do...and I'll be dancing to 'em next weekend at Hart Plaza! :animier: :animier:

DJ Saint Posted May 23, 2010 Posted May 23, 2010 Criticism makes my penis hard. LOL - Funniest thing ever on DGN! Respect!!!!
phee Posted May 23, 2010 Posted May 23, 2010 I prefer the term "Music Nazi" lulz... Naw I am not a Nazi in terms of music.... (I reserve my fascism for DGN so I am told). I prefer to think of it as "My Sonic Preferences are more enhanced."
Joey Deadcat Posted May 23, 2010 Posted May 23, 2010 DJ SPAG, Human Fly, Del Villarreal, Tim Tiki, Brian Necro, Adam Cadaver & Brian The Brain, Sarah & Elisa, Top Cat, and Lacy... And the youngbloods: Deadbeat and Nocker
Pulse State Posted May 23, 2010 Posted May 23, 2010 The City Club DJ's, headed up by the illustrious DJ Pleasure Kitten, all bring it in their own ways. Thanks to all of you for giving me something to look forward to after a rather arduous work week. Versatility knows no bounds and the reward is seen every weekend on the dance floor.
TheOsakaKoneko Posted May 25, 2010 Posted May 25, 2010 Yes we do. It takes a bit of travel and visiting other clubs and events to truly appreciate Detroit DJs. (Philadelphia, Chicago, Orlando - Detroit has always beat the hell out of any of them so far in my experience). SO TRUE
Raev Posted June 28, 2012 Author Posted June 28, 2012 Ya know, having now stood in the booth trying to make the masses happy and get the dance floor jumping - I appreciate what the regular DJs do even more. I am in awe and envious. <3 I neeeeed a DJ booth fix. :D
Troy Spiral (13) Posted June 29, 2012 Posted June 29, 2012 Ya know, having now stood in the booth trying to make the masses happy and get the dance floor jumping - I appreciate what the regular DJs do even more. I am in awe and envious. <3 I neeeeed a DJ booth fix. :D I certainly prefer DJs that ARE trying to keep their audience happy rather than impress some small segment of it with obscurity. When I was on the radio that was one thing as the audience is all over the place, but at a CLUB the audience is not, and the selections should reflect that, rather than say me trying to impress "my cool DJ friends" or the "people that really know their stuff" too much. I know that wasn't what you were getting at really, just popped into my mind.
Class-Punk Posted July 2, 2012 Posted July 2, 2012 Criticism makes my penis hard. I'm convinced those are obscure Asylum Party lyrics.
DJDeadbeat Posted July 12, 2012 Posted July 12, 2012 I'm convinced those are obscure Asylum Party lyrics. Essentially.
Troy Spiral (13) Posted July 12, 2012 Posted July 12, 2012 I'm convinced those are obscure Asylum Party lyrics. Essentially. WTF SHHHH. Don't be telling people how I secretly get my kicks.
