City Club Poll for new night Sunday or Tuesday?

Wow. I thought I read something about cleaning, and fixing the sound system. Did the deal get scrapped after all the work was done?

Here's the deal:

We, that is the Collective were asked to run another night throughout the week. We decided that Tuesday would be the best night to do it and we were then told by Sybil that she needed to talk it over with Mike. I spoke with her on the phone the other day and she said that Mike the owner wants us if we decide to do the night to pay for CC's bartenders and security. I think it's foolish to ask us to pay for CC's employees when we are trying to help their business with another night. We have also had people in our group going in and trying to fix the sound system. I told Sybil that we will not pay and to talk with Mike about it and get back with me. We were at first under the impression that we had the night and then I was told it wan't a done deal. I was given a date and times and now this nonsense. I'm sorry to all that this will probably not work out. We are searching for another venue to host the Dead line night. We will keep you informed once something is confirmed.

If you are going to call it deadline AND do it at a different venue, I suggest you clear it with all of those involved with deadline, or give the DJs that worked for "deadline" first dibs at DJ spots.

It was Scary Guy;s idea to call it Deadline and of course we would clear it with the Deadline people. DJ's that want to spin that night need to contact Scary Guy. As far as a different venue goes, we are searching for one. Once again, I will let you know when we find one.

I'm almost entirely done with nightlife in Detroit because it seems that whenever a good night gets started it dives out quickly whereas nights that cater more to booty-jocky-preps like CC's weekend nights have been. And now the smoking thing...? It's bullshit and unfair.

I wasn't going to say anything, but since you are looking for a new venue, here's my two cents: Sunday and Tuesday are both horrible nights for a club. Where ever you end up, aim for Wednesday, Thursday or Friday nights.

I think if a good club does a friday night it will have a chance cause not too many go to City on fridays and once word spreads it could steal some saturday thunder/
