For that matter, I had considered posting 'Careful' Guy Maddin. If you know Guy Maddin (Canada) then you'll know what I mean-a few of his films could go on here, but 'Careful' is really cool...

Speaking of Archibald Leech...

Trying to remember if "Charade" and "North by Northwest" were color or B&W. If B&W, add them to my list.

Oh yeah - City Lights (Chaplin) is a lovely, lovely movie.

I'm definitely with you on Metropolis. One of the classics.

Also Yojimbo, Sanjuro, Rashomon, Seven Samurai, The Seventh Seal....

"Arsenic and Old Lace" was great, I've never seen the whole thing, just usually the last part of it, many years ago.

Charlie Chaplin in "The Gold Rush"

I haven't seen the original "Metropolis" but I saw the animated version and liked it a lot. Really wanted to watch the original first though.

"Nosforatu" I haven't seen, but I like "Dracula"

Also recently saw Phantom of the Opera (1931 I think?)

The Blob is always a favorite

Oh yeah and of course Clerks

Night of the Living Dead was great and I met Kyra Schon who played the little girl last year at www.cinemawasteland.com in Ohio.

If you have an old TV or take the tint all the way down on a newer one though any movie can be black and white, or if you happen to be colorblind.
