Welcome to the joint.

Just to quote your opening post in the other topic for them that might not be aware:

oh hai.

i just moved back to detroit from northwestern indiana. i grew up in pleasant ridge, moved to indiana for high school and then promptly moved to chicago for college. i stayed in chicago for 7 years and with much hostility moved back to indiana. if you have never been to indiana i do not recommend it, as it has a black hole effect on anyone that gets within 10 miles of its unkempt borders. it is filled with nothing but raving, posturing, small minded folks and religious fanatics. escape was our only viable option.

my wife and i moved back here under the request of a new tattoo shop opening in shelby township. while most of my family is based in the madison heights area, i had kept a healthy on-and-off-again relationship with this city. in the mid to late 90's i was fairly active in the scene, centering mostly around the old noir leather building and the noir house. although most of those years where spent in an LSD induced blur, i do remember fondly sitting with Benji at the Noir house in ferndale and watching it almost burn to the ground. most of the names and faces of that lost decade are gone now, or at least in hiding from government officials, so i post now as an outreach to new names and faces.

i enjoy long walks on the beach, dystopian fantasies, william gibson and charles bukowski. i am an artist by trade, and enjoy my job entirely too much to be healthy. i am a mutualist anarchist, but don't hold that against me. i am outspoken, direct, and pathetically unphotogenic. i enjoy all kinds of music, but generally the more discordant and stompy, the better. my musical evoltion went from Journey to punk to goth to industrial to power noise to downtempo experimental. i also enjoy sushi.

that is all.

This 👆 definitely goes with what I said in my other post - getting old sucks. Seems like *everything* takes longer and takes more energy out of me than it used to. Really need to work on my diet and exercise, I've found the older I get, the more important those things have really become...

Well we were supposed to leave last night, but life has a way of making plans for you. I'm about to get up and get ready to go on our vacation. Had and still have a lot to do.  Not easy to just up and leave a ranch with a lot of animals and things that need taken care of. We even have people here to watch and tend things while we're gone, but still.   I had to change the radiator in my car before we leave - got that done last night. Took a lot more out of me than I thought it would, so by the time I finished I had little energy for anything else. Today I just have a couple more quick things to do on the car, like cleaning it and packing stuff. Couple of minor things to do around the ranch today, as well.   I figure we should be on the road this evening sometime. I'm looking forward to it. We're going to see the wife's side of the family, people I actually like,  in Vegas and AZ. Should only be gone for a few days, maybe a week. Going to the Grand Canyon and Lake Mead and all kinds of stuff in between, so I'm pretty stoked. I LOVE the Southwest.   Wish me luck that my car survives the desert! (Hence new radiator) 🤠👍

Sometimes sleep can be a scary thing.  I passed out so hard at 4:54pm today.  Yesterday wiped me out with rentals, appointments and helping a lost dog get back home.  Fortunately, I found him on Facebook and contacted the owners and he was picked up before nightfall.  But I think I totally overdid it and paid for it today in the middle of handling business.  Thankfully it was some work at home stuff.   I definitely do not like being that kind of tired.  It's like the World could end and I'd wake up afterwards trying to find out what happened.
