New physical job + new eating habits + extra knowledge

Been a month and a half since I started this new job and it has really made some good changes in my weight. Got as far as 275 in the beginning when I realized I really needed to do something before I became diabetic or worse. Bought an online book called "The Truth About Abs" which explains the reasons why people gain weight and what misinterpretations are. They also give plenty of links to other helpful info like a food/calorie calculator/scheduler in which you can select certain foods per meal and plan them out and count the calories.

Now I am down to 259 and not going up much when eating. Feels pretty good to tighten the belt another notch and be able to tie my boots without breathing hard lol.

I even learned from a helpful hint that after showering, by lowering the warm water down til only cold water is remaining that you can activate the baby fat(mitochondria its called) in your upper body which helps for extra fat burning. And adding spice to things like potatoes and chicken and whatnot can help boost your metabolism.

What kinds of stuff do others here do for losing weight?

Good job, Reaper!!

I signed up for an unlimited membership at the place where I am training in Krav Maga. They offer kickboxing and crosstraining classes in addition to Krav Maga. Most classes are 45 minutes to an hour. I've been trying to go to at least two classes, three times per week. Lifting weights does help. I started using Kettle bells, you can find videos regarding kettle bell exercises on youtube. As for food, I try to watch what I eat for the most part. I drink a protein shake or two each day (have to since I metabolize it differently).

Yep, tips like that. Started adding cinnamon on things and spicy items as well already. Drinking cold water is probably the other half of the taking a cold shower part lol.

If you work out do it early in the morning...like around 4. It is alot easier for most people and since you woke up, well I can't really explain it but your body handles it differently. I do about an hour of PT and go for a run or else just a long run but I always do it along with the rising sun...doing that stuff once the sun is harder for some reason. Maybe that is just me though...

Look into yoga..not the high level Hatha moves (body yoga, think impossible stretches) you want light Hatha...the part in Yoga you want to look into is the Raja Yoga (mind yoga), where, by using practiced breathing, we access the mind, & it's latent powers over the body....the trick in the shower, whenever I hear of it, is, "take a normal shower, at the end, turn it up slowly (TAKING THOSE YOGA BREATHS) & then, right at the end, switch it very quickly to full cold (KEEP UP THAT YOGA BREATH AS LONG AS YOU CAN)...if you start breathing really irregularly, then, you have just kicked you metabolism into a more upbeat pace than normal..after time, & daily use, your Yoga will be a strong Yoga...

...& congratulations.

Perhaps also, you could buy yourself a treadmill, and walk on it for 20 minutes a day, as many days at a time as you feel up to. I once read an article about a man who lost 300 lbs just by changing his diet and walking.

I will suggest you to do maximum exercises and eat accordingly. Exercises can reduce weight symmetrically and your body will even look perfect so try to reduce the body following the natural process.
