st_masey Posted November 27, 2010 Posted November 27, 2010 David Bowie shows the full realization of what one man can do on this earth if he meets the right drag queens.
Jinx Posted November 27, 2010 Posted November 27, 2010 Saw him with NIN years ago. Only man on the planet (other than janes addiction) who can say no sir you open for me.
Simon Bar Sinister Posted November 29, 2010 Posted November 29, 2010 this tour was incredible to witness.
st_masey Posted November 29, 2010 Posted November 29, 2010 IM AFRAID OF AMERICANS! Great artist. Lousy song. Good words to live by.
Saint Germain Posted December 1, 2010 Posted December 1, 2010 Life on mars? This man is a god unless he sings in German
Destroit Posted December 2, 2010 Posted December 2, 2010 *Admits to HATING David Bowie* I don't hate him. There are songs I like of his and since I grew up in the 90s the Goblin King does have a special place in my childhood heart. I don't really get what the huge fuss is about though, much like with Nirvana. Personally, I also don't understand how he became appraised more than Gary Numan, who imo is much more talented, was a more original pioneer on the musical map, and well, looks better . st_masey Posted December 2, 2010 Posted December 2, 2010 (edited) *winces* I attempt too many arguments on this forum. Usually my points kill threads, so I won't bother here. Suffice it to say, goth as we know it owes nearly everything to Bowie. He is one of the most creative people in the history of popular music. Sure, he has not done anything musically significant for the decades since Scary Monsters, but what he accomplished in the seventies is unrivaled, unprecedented, and in some ways, unsurpassed. DorianDawes Posted January 12, 2011 Posted January 12, 2011 I think it's safe to say that I owe nearly everything I am to the day that I first heard this album.
