FarrIL Posted November 16, 2010 Posted November 16, 2010 I took a look-see through my deviant art gallery and noticed that my modeling and photography gets more attention than my art. At first, I thought "Poo! Do not approve!" but also, I dont do much photography. I dont whip out my camera all the time, I foten make it feel lonely on my desk, sitting between my laptop and terabyte. So, with that in mind, in 2011, I'm going to do more photography. Shooting more models, more concerts, more scenery... and I'm going to rock the shit out of it! There's no excuse not to live up to this goal, especially when people seem to like what my point'n'shoot captures. =3 So, what's your new year's resolution? OR, have you made one yet?
Nate Kriepp Posted November 16, 2010 Posted November 16, 2010 Try to do more art. My boss tries to convince me that the science that we do is an art(the chemistry is quite beautiful actually. I'll see if I can post some pix) but it's not the same as doing comics.
eatdirt426 Posted November 16, 2010 Posted November 16, 2010 I have a few resolutions, I want to spend some more time downstate with the little bit of family I still have down there, Get along with my dad better thats the one I really really have to work on since my dad and I arent on speaking terms. Be a little lient with my boys not too much but just enough that they can stay up a half hour later than normal one day a week. I'm sure I'll probably have a few more before New Years.
Enishi Posted November 16, 2010 Posted November 16, 2010 My resolution for 2011 is to finish my Bachelors and then take an intensive TEFL or CELTA course. Those particular goals have gone unfinished for far to long and it's getting to the point where I don't want to even think about anything else until I'm done. I want my FREEEEEEDDDDDOOOOOMMMMM!!!!!
prick Posted November 16, 2010 Posted November 16, 2010 To excercise more, to go out an enjoy the things I love so much that I havent been doing much the last couple years. Mostly outdoors activities., To just be a better me.
Simon Bar Sinister Posted November 16, 2010 Posted November 16, 2010 what prick said, plus finally get some of my music out there.
killyosaur Posted November 17, 2010 Posted November 17, 2010 run 5 marathons. I think I will have 3 set up, with a tentative 4th, just need to figure out what #5 will be.
kat (1) Posted November 19, 2010 Posted November 19, 2010 I am going back to school and changing careers, working in social work has been too much for me emotionally, I think I have known that for a long time but did not know what else to do. I am going to get my degree in Medical Lab Technology and I also want to start focusing on music more, which means that all the self-conscious, low self-esteem issues have got to go.
lordkraven Posted November 19, 2010 Posted November 19, 2010 my resolution is to just try to be happy for once no matter what it takes 2010 has been a bad year for me maybe 2011 will be better

I think social work is pretty much designed to burn people out. Nearly everyone I know in that field leaves it, becomes alcoholic, or gets a leather heart.
bean Posted November 19, 2010 Posted November 19, 2010 I think social work is pretty much designed to burn people out. Nearly everyone I know in that field leaves it, becomes alcoholic, or gets a leather heart. It's a tough field. I listen to people's problems every day, and sometimes I feel like there is no one to listen to my problems. The alcohol/drug use rate and suicide rate is kinda high for people who work in the field. I still want to stay in the field though. My resolution for 2011 is to make time for myself, and to be kinder to myself.

See, (in response to Bean and TWB) that's why all my ex-coworkers drink and many do take medications, or they get sick fast, like literally burn their adrenal's out, which is what I did to mine a couple years ago. I love people and helping them, for me the burnout is the red tape involved, and also like Bean said, I feel that I same thing listening to everyone's problem's but than noone listens to mine, perhaps that's why I rant on the board, lol, DGN has become my lover and therapist!!!!!!! I think maybe I need to just leave the field for awhile, maybe until my kids are older, then go back.
Tyger Posted December 4, 2010 Posted December 4, 2010 Take care of my number one little man more. (health wise. He gets sick to often it seems) Get better marks in school. Work on my projects longer. Stay single. Have fun by myself. Learn to fully love myself. Model more.
Guest Megalicious Posted December 8, 2010 Posted December 8, 2010 To offer myself one week out of the year to travel to where ever I want, alone and not freak out about what is going on at home or kids. To stop being so grade driven- test scores do not reflect my self worth. No one is perfect- I have to stop expecting myself to be. Start taking boxing lessons again, I did for a short while, but just time- I NEVER have enough time. To learn to play classic piano, even if I don't play well. To get more sleep.
prick Posted December 28, 2010 Posted December 28, 2010 For me its to keep up with my work outs and just try to be a better me in every way.
