Anybody know of any good products or mabe homeade recipies for skin lightening stuff to help keep pale skin looking nice and free of imperfections like freckles.

I don't know of the home remedies, but Christian Dior has a line called "Snow" that's quite good.

Isn't lemon juice a folk remedy for freckles?

Posted

Yeah, it is.

You can also go to a beauty supply store. They sell skin bleach type stuff that is for dark spots on the face. I don't know what it's called, but you could ask the people that work there.

The active ingredient in those products is hydroquinone 2%. Some of the more popular brands are Artra, Black Opal, Ambi, Black & White (marketed to women of color) and Porcelana & Esoterica. Hydroquinone does work, but it can take a looong time & religious use to produce results.

You can also get 4% hydroquinone cream by prescription. I use it, and I can't say it's much more effective than the OTC versions... but then, my skin is fairly dark and puts down very dark pigment during the healing process, so I'm prolly an extreme case.

butter milk.

Smells like shit but it works.

I also like lava soap

I wouldn't mind getting something for my arms.. The rest of my body is pale as a piece of paper except my arms get color from driving in the sun... I need to just start being more religious with the sunblock applications. Do any of those skin-lightening agents fuck up tattoos?? I could imagine if it's making your skin lighter, it will make your tattoos fade, too? No?

I think the main thing is just staying out of the sun and using proper protection when you do go outside, esp. during the summer.

I've heard people mention that drinking white vinegar can break down some of the melanin in your body and hence lighten your skin. But, I don't know if this is true or not.

Maybe we should ask Michael Jackson for his secret

Heh, true. Probably something we could never afford though.

I've used the hydroquinalone creams but they take forever and I lost patience with them. I do stay out of the sun but I have a discolored area below my eye and a couple other places I've been trying for years to fade. Nothing seems to help.

I think it's going to take some type of laser treatments to fix, which I can't really manage right now.

i don't have any advice but i wanted to say i think freckles are cute ;) on pale and dark skin.

I totally love my freckles. I love freckles on others. They're sexy.

I really don't know... I avoid getting any on mine but I've never heard anyting about it one way or the other. But if inkwork can be faded by the sun, it seems likely that a chemical agent could do it too.

Used some of that age spot remover cream once and it bleached the whole area not just the spot. I had a much lighter spot around my spot. Ha.

Oh and I thought upon reading this "only in the goth site". Try the agespot cream though it works.

Micheal Jackson has the dieseas that makes black people turn white as they mature. Some just get spots, but he was lucky enough to have it be even.

On a serious note, this is supposed to be the disease that MJ has. It is also rumoured that he has had a depigmentation process done (skin bleaching, in essence) in an attempt to not appear as if he has the disease.

On an aside from this and being a person of German and Italian descent (the Italian being the more prominent for me), does it really matter being milky white? I realise it's hard to look "undead" or vampiric when one has a tan, but is it so very important?

High five to a goon/wop.

If it makes a person feel better about them selves then yes it is necessary.

Now considering that I have a mild allergy to sun (It takes me a day of sun to develop a rash on the exposed areas and repeated exposure makes me ill but I don't burn) I end up with a heavy olive cast to my skin (when I'm not tanning though my "Protective Gear" wile welding) so I use blue grease make up for the pail effect you don't need alot. With practice most people wont know you have any on at all and will think you should be dead.

The pros.

You avoid health risks from chemicals.

It's cheaper because you using next to nothing.

It wont fade tattoos.

Cons

Finding out what your major tones are.

Finding out what colors you need to negate them.

Learning application techniques.

A few months ago I started to develop dark spots and freckles on my face. For about 3 weeks now I have been using this moisturizer which is suppose to "reduce brown spots and unify the complexion" from the maker "Roc".

I use it both in the morning and at night and the freckles and spots have noticeably lightened. My overall complexion is also lighter which I don't presume most people would be happy about but I am thrilled.

It is also spf 15 so it does give a bit of protection in the sun.

It was a bit expensive but having just turned 30 and witnessing the changes in my face over the past few years, I don't mind paying for products if they work.

Here's a link although I did find mine for a lower price than listed on this site at my local drug store.
