Firefox seems to have disabled embedded videos for me so I'm gonna guess it's a video of a teen girl singing that folks have been posting on FB. I haven't clicked it and never will - ignorance is bliss when it comes to these things. :)

Yeha you're not missing much. I will say the only thing this girl has over Brokencyde is that it's not as excessively teeny-bopper pretentious. Like, Brokencyde they're all standing in the street partying with "bitches" and all that like they're grown when we all know they're probably about 12 irl. This song though, is just boring, I can see how it would appeal to preppy girls in grade school though.

I think it's fun, fun, fun, fun.

PLUS, I'm so glad she taught me that after Friday comes Saturday, and after Saturday comes Sunday.

As the Pixies would say, IT'S EDUCATIONAL!

As the Pixies would say, IT'S EDUCATIONAL!

"We so excited"? "We gonna have a ball today"? "I be Rebecca Black"?

Maybe after she's done teaching us chronology, somebody can teach her English. That would be more educational.

Then again, seeing as how so many older and educated people have trouble using helper verbs when needed, maybe I'm just dreaming.

Yeah, I think I'll stick with Brokencyde and 3OH!3 thanks. At least they're entertaining. This, not so much.

This is a result of what happens when daddy leaves his studio open when he leaves for work. It is the tendency that rich people have where they think that everyone will want to see them on TV and singing...nope...

All of them look like the "new" Hot Topic or Zumies vomited on them after they all went to pick out random, similar looking tattoos that they would all get on identical body parts...

She shoulda worked on this some more before releasing it...unless this was really the only way her friends would learn what day comes after Friday...and then learn that Sunday actually comes after Saturday...

Taken from the Wikipedia entry on the song:

In the fall of 2010, a classmate of Black and music-video client of Ark Music Factory, a Los Angeles vanity record label, told her about the company. Black's mother, Georgina Kelly, paid Ark Music $2,000 for a package that included a choice of two pre-written songs ... Ark Music handled the song's recording, which used the pitch-correcting software Auto-Tune.

So, who needs talent? For just $2K you can buy your way to fame and glory.

Ok now I know I must be getting old because my first concern after how terrible the music and video were was why all those kids were riding in that car without seatbelts on.

Even the metal version can't make this song ok for me. And we all know if there was anybody on this board that would most likely listen to something not so goth it's me.......and this song makes me wanna take a sledge hammer to my ear drum. "Fun fun fun fun fun fun fun fun fun. Friday, Friday, Friday, Friday, Friday, Friday, Friday" is all I hear. I must go play some epic metal to get this out of my head.

I don't really have a problem with any lets call them "pop teen" groups as such, what I have a problem with is a culture that places so much importance on entertainment(over education/reality) that even the most nothing/nonsense/nopoint entertainment finds a place and they are "icons" of one sort or another with magazines that write about nothing but this stuff.

If some of these kids that are the "artists" , were from down the street and they showed me this work I wouldn't insult them, I'd probably tell them they did a good job, and they did for what its worth in a sense. The problem is with the waste-of-space culture that surrounds such nonsense and all the time/effort wasted on it.
