Ong-Bak: The Thai Warrior

It is a stereotypical resolve flick. Don't get me wrong, tenacity in the hands of the righteous is a good thing, it is just that this type of movie is common as dirt.

What got me hooked into the movie was the use of Muay Thai in a much more pure form than I had ever seen in a movie.

I have nothing but respect for the art of Muay Thai. I use to watch ESPN until the matches from Thailand got banned for being too brutal. I digress.

The choreography is great, and leads me to believe that Tony Jaa is the Thai Jacky Chan.

If you are in the mood for a doggedness flick with 1 "Hugh?" moment, comedic chase scenes and brutal fights then this is a keeper.

Story 6/10

Action 8/10

Comedy 7/10

T&A, just 1 bras doesn't count.

Our next door neighbor's brother is CRAZY about Kung-Fu movies; he introduced us to Ong-Bak and it is exceptional. If you enjoyed Ong-Bak, another one that I enjoyed immensely at a house party in the hood one time was called Chocolate. Another storyline that isn't 100% original (because in modern movies, that's pretty hard to pull off), but the cinematography is exceptional, the fighting is fucking awe-inducing, and the story is VERY heartfelt in a non-cheesy way.

It's the story of a girl who has autism (not high-functioning, she is pretty much a savant and can barely speak). She is the product of two warring Japanese gangs, almost in a Romeo and Juliet style, and when she is born her father's side banishes her and her mother's side. Due to this they live in poverty, until it's discovered that Zen picks up traits and tricks almost immediately JUST by watching them. Let's just say there's a lot of Kung-Fu on tv where she lives .

It's from the makers of Ong-Bak and the main star is AMAZING! There are no stunt-doubles, no wires, no CGI or anything, just ONE HUNDRED percent pure badassery. I ADORE the actress, and her role in this movie, as I'm sick of how boring and sexualized most American counterparts tend to be, just because I cannot relate to those kinds female roles easily. She is EXTREMELY talented :respect:. You will NOT believe what you are seeing!

Trailer is here:

Much like most who have seen Tokyo Gore Police recommend Aliens vs Ninja, and those who loved Machine Girl always love Robo-Geisha, if you loved Ong Bak, you WILL LOVE THIS MOVIE (probably moreso, imo, but that all goes on personal preference of course).

I'm thinking I'm going to be moving to AZ, soon! Can't wait! I friggin' love it here! The heat doesn't bother me at all and the best part? NO SNOW!!! (S.N.O.W. - Shit  No One Wants)   Been staying in Bullhead City where the kids and grandkids live. Next, we're going to the wife's cousin's which is a ways North of Kingman, in the middle of nowhere, where we actually plan to move.   I really like Bullhead. It's a nice little town. Not overcrowded like Colorado Springs has become, at all. Very light traffic, reasonable prices on everything, low taxes, etc. The river offers a lot to do, with a lot of beaches and campgrounds all around it.   But yeah even though we've been over 110º-115º F just about every day,  I can handle it!  What I can't handle anymore, is snow and being cold. Just tired of it. Give me the desert over a blizzard any day!

Nope, we wasn't doing anything. I didn't want to go by myself.  I ended up doing karaoke here. It would of been a perfect day to go, though.
