Somehow I thought they were already available. The "news" there is that they were NOT already, to me. lol

Funny way they put it:

"In what could possibly be the best news ever for Netflix, Star Trek: The Next Generation and Star Trek: Deep Space 9 will start streaming in all their glorious glory later this year. In other >reasonably good< (lols) news, so will TOS, Voyager, and Enterprise."

Although there are actually six "TV Shows" Star Trek: The Animated Series (which i've not watched) is the sixth. Not to mention the one that never made it ST: Phase II which actually got to the stage were there is footage of the actors and engine room and other things.

Every time i think to post something is usually something controversial. This hopefully is not.

Awmagawd. You mean there are people that HAVEN'T watched all of the star treks? Blasphemy! :gathering:

I didn't get into Next Generation till I was in my 20's so I'm behind. As for the other Treks, I have too much other stuff I'm interested in atm, right now being Sons of Anarchy.

SoA is good. I'm actually watching that right now. Well not NOW, now, but then- now. =)

From a straight "quality" standpoint ST is just a mid-range show, probably on par with (ahem) SG1 or Farscape or some such, if you just look at it from a "happy fun time" standpoint. Even though I've watched all the episodes through Voyager at least X2 I dont kid myself. its a good show, with very good characters, but in the end its more of an emotional attachment / it has a whole 'backstory' / 'universe' behind it. If the ST brand, and the nerd-background-details aspects arent appealing, then its not going to rate very highly.

Just about any of the "good shows" on a per-episode basis have overall better writing, (SoA / The Sopranos/ Deadwood/ The Sheild / The Wire / BSG or any other highly rated show).

Sorta like comparing say The Bible to good XYZ Manga of the week. The manga is probably written better, is easier to follow and is more of a page turner only The True Believer will see the light. :p

Speaking of manga/anime, Black Butler might become one of my favorite anime series, the dubs are on Netflix. Its by Square Enix and the producers of Full Metal Alchemist. There's a plethora of Gothic literature elements.

I'm thinking I'm going to be moving to AZ, soon! Can't wait! I friggin' love it here! The heat doesn't bother me at all and the best part? NO SNOW!!! (S.N.O.W. - Shit  No One Wants)   Been staying in Bullhead City where the kids and grandkids live. Next, we're going to the wife's cousin's which is a ways North of Kingman, in the middle of nowhere, where we actually plan to move.   I really like Bullhead. It's a nice little town. Not overcrowded like Colorado Springs has become, at all. Very light traffic, reasonable prices on everything, low taxes, etc. The river offers a lot to do, with a lot of beaches and campgrounds all around it.   But yeah even though we've been over 110º-115º F just about every day,  I can handle it!  What I can't handle anymore, is snow and being cold. Just tired of it. Give me the desert over a blizzard any day!
