Fascinating... Thank you for posting that! One of my classroom books has a diagram of the Hubble. I'm gonna print that & attach it to the book... should give the kiddies a much stronger sense of what something like that can really do.

I'm still not sure what I like more! The fact that there is another solar system out there, or that it looks like an eye??? hehehehe

There are many other solar systems out there. We have found over 100 extra solar planets to date. I'm not sure the exact number.

Wow Fomalhaut’s ring in visible light. There are many sweet pictures from hubble but that thing is not a composite of various non-visible light images like most of them are its just a time exposed visible light image, which means.... its way cool hehe.

Thanks for posting that, i havent been keeping up on my cosmology like i should be.

Here is another article with a slightly different spin:

(Btw we are now up to 160 planets outside of our solar system and 18 "Multiple Planet Systems" ("solar" system - is meant to be used just for our planetary system , that being the planetary system around our sun... which is named "Sol" thus "Solar System") Once we start getting used to it, its expected we'll start calling other "solar systems" names like "Fomalhauts System (or ring if the planets are still in formation-gas form)" or "The Rigel System (or ring)" based on what star the planetary system is orbiting.

Been a long , fast road since my high school days when it was not know that there are any planets outside of our solar system. No earth-mars-venus type planets found yet though (mostly all gas giants, larger that jupiter). Kind of left me slack-jawed when they first started discovering them. Still does actually.

I'm thinking I'm going to be moving to AZ, soon! Can't wait! I friggin' love it here! The heat doesn't bother me at all and the best part? NO SNOW!!! (S.N.O.W. - Shit  No One Wants)   Been staying in Bullhead City where the kids and grandkids live. Next, we're going to the wife's cousin's which is a ways North of Kingman, in the middle of nowhere, where we actually plan to move.   I really like Bullhead. It's a nice little town. Not overcrowded like Colorado Springs has become, at all. Very light traffic, reasonable prices on everything, low taxes, etc. The river offers a lot to do, with a lot of beaches and campgrounds all around it.   But yeah even though we've been over 110º-115º F just about every day,  I can handle it!  What I can't handle anymore, is snow and being cold. Just tired of it. Give me the desert over a blizzard any day!

Nope, we wasn't doing anything. I didn't want to go by myself.  I ended up doing karaoke here. It would of been a perfect day to go, though.
