victoriavengeance (1) Posted June 10, 2011 Posted June 10, 2011 They're revamping and doing another Suicide Squad arc. And Adam Glass redesigned Harley and I'm going to cry. She may be half red, but my Harley is no scarlet woman. Now she looks like a common CC girl or something :[[[ except not a common one, more like one of those super rail thin chicks that wear super skanky outfits (I realize I fall into the skanky category, but not the rail thin, so I am half-allowed to say that, right?) whatever, rambling out of anger at DC. WAH.
wormsinwombs Posted June 11, 2011 Posted June 11, 2011 its not even a cool looking slutty outfit :( that's pretty disappointing
victoriavengeance (1) Posted June 11, 2011 Author Posted June 11, 2011 right>? I don't even want to cosplay it. i'm all for slutty outfits. but i don't even want to this time... fff.
Troy Spiral (13) Posted June 11, 2011 Posted June 11, 2011 Seems pretty drastic. I wouldn't say she looks "bad" just non-distinct, you'd never look at a picture like that without knowing ahead of time and say "thats Harelyquinn". Although there are so many different "shifted" renditions of H-Q, most of them include her black & red jester outfit & hat just in an ever shifting toward the slutty / dark side rather than her more "cartoon" look. Seems like shes a favorite to be constantly be given a makeover even if its just a one-shot. Probably partly due to her originally being non-cannon and a (fairly) recent addition. The original Suicide Squad (before I was born I think) I have no understanding of, the newer one I vaguely remember although I't seemed to dissapear off my radar quickly. The name and the idea seem to fit modern comic tastes though, more than they would have in years past. Her incarnation in the video games Batman: Arkham Aslym / Arkham City <-- lots o pictures. (seriously if anyone hasn't read that book (Arkham Aslym Graphic Novel) by now /spank get to it, but i digress...) seems pretty popular with the cosplayers. Then there is this crazyness. http://gothicmoomin.wordpress.com/2010/10/12/harley-quinn-endearing-mentalist/ Sort of a midway point between the "good girl" version of HQ and this odd non-discript version, although at least in the Arkham Aslym version (not so much in Arkham City) she is also basicly a goth girl.
victoriavengeance (1) Posted June 12, 2011 Author Posted June 12, 2011 (edited) Her nurse outfit in Arkham Asylum I can handle. it's a costume, it goes along with her role in the game and graphic novel and whatever. Arkham City's outfit is trashy but I can be O.K. with it. but this is just annoying. In all reality, Harley Quinn is NOT gothic. Harley's perfectly bubbly, happy, silly, and the only reason she dresses like a Harlequin is because she's in love with a guy who likes her dressed that way, and it stuck. As cool as these 'dark knight' / 'christopher nolan' styles are [WHICH I am guilty of wearing nolan-verse influenced harley outfits, even last night at city with bacon bit as my joker haha but that's just because we got bored and it was nothing serious and was not 'canon' in a comic], it is kind of annoying to see it taken so far from her Animated series rendition's origin. ick. she's not some sleaze, ya know? Hate Christopher Nolan's ideas for Batman. Batman begins was good, the second one was terrible...
