Saephyr Posted September 19, 2005 Author Posted September 19, 2005 On this topic: I just moved to the Detroit area and I need a OB/GYN that can treat this logically and get off the "You neeeeeedddd to pop babies!! Nothing is more important!" thing and actuattly TREAT my issue. I have medical insurance as of next month and I'm looking to get all this jank removed and be done with this. Anybody have recommendations? They need to take Blue Cross... <{POST_SNAPBACK}> i know an Ob/GYN who's fantastic! She's in Livonia and her name is Dr. Sylvia Santos-Sio Just tell her what the issue is and also add you have a genetic disorder for passing it to your offspring and it's terminal if you REALLY don't want to be fertile anymore Pm me for details.
Saephyr Posted September 29, 2005 Author Posted September 29, 2005 I need a hug! I was just hit with some major decisoins to make due to my condition :erm Ok I have to get an ultrasound done on Monday. After that they schedule me for an operation where they put a scope in my bellybutton :blink and check out the damages. I was told that afterwards I would be facing 2 choices a) Have a baby and let my body do all the healing on it's own. b) Hysterectomy :tear WTF kind of options are those? My tubes ahve been tied for over 5 years and now I'm being told to end my suffering I have to commit to a lifelong station of motherhood OR just get the blessed femaleness of my body cut out and incinerated with no chance of reversal!!!??? I want hugs and ice cream dammit! :confused
Onyx Posted September 29, 2005 Posted September 29, 2005 :( Sorry to hear that. Very strange to me that they put it as if having a child is a medical treatment. I mean, I could understand if they told you that IF you were planning a family that it may alleviate the problem, but to actually suggest a pregnancy as a means of treatment? Sounds like unethical medical practice to me. ?

BUT an old pal of mie did it and she's NOW got endo after 3 births so WTF??? :doh

I mean IF you were planning on having children otherwise that is one thing but... very odd. I do know someone who had a hysterectomy at 22. A few months of wonky hormones but she says now everything is pretty much normal. A little dryness but nothing lube can't fix, and her sex drive is normal. Of course anecdotal evidence doesn't help for much. Good luck hon

It gives me hope lady! :grin
Nienna Posted October 4, 2005 Posted October 4, 2005 No no no quite the contrary. It gives me hope lady! :grin <{POST_SNAPBACK}> *HUGS* I've sooo been there! They may be able to laser off the endo with the scope. I've had that many times and it's a 2-3 day recovery and no real scarring. I also have a good friend who had a hysterectomy at 19, due to similar issues. She's fine, says that the artificial hormones seem to be better balanced and in general better than her own were! I WISH I could get that done, to be without all this BS would be a blessing. Remember: You are not a sum of your parts. Your reproductive system does NOT make you a woman/ not a woman. Check out this website, my mom and I both have drawn alot of stregnth and info from there: www.hystersisters.com.

I have a lot of experience in babying people post op. My dad's had like a dozen knee surgeries, and my ma had her gallbladder taken out about a year ago. And I make awesome homemade chicken soup =)
Saephyr Posted October 5, 2005 Author Posted October 5, 2005 Awwwwwww what a dollface! No wonder we live in the Love nest!
Homicidalheathen Posted October 5, 2005 Posted October 5, 2005 Yah if ya need me let me know. I have had so much work done to stay alive.....I am good with sick people. I feel it is my turn to pay back. I will make runs to the store or sponge bathe......whatever.
Nienna Posted October 5, 2005 Posted October 5, 2005 You know.. Vicodin never helped me. I have alot better luck with small dose demerol patches, Tylenol 3 and Ultracet. Maybe see if those are something your doctor would try.

I'm a wreck and things just keep adding up for some reason. It will calm down and I'll have a life sometime but I miss it so I do what little I can cuz I have my pals to encourage me :whistling

He upped my dosage to Vicodin 750 and it's just not helping. it does make me barf really well however.
