Just to pull a number out of my ass I'm guessing lets say 40% of all medical (legitimate) options we have came directly or indirectly from some sort of "animal cruelty" but, most of the animals were probably rodents, which apparently don't have a large political lobby.

Which I know is not the same as "stem cell research is against god/nature/etc" , more of just a side note.
