Seriously, is everyone ok?

While I'm fascinated by natural disaster, having to drive home and try to figure out HOW to get there after derby practice left me wishing I had Xanax. Or a hug. I was seriously terrified.

I spent 4 hours rescuing build materials, accessing water damage and doing my best impression of appearing to magically stop leaks during alternating downpours, but all in all, we survived on this end...so far so good

About to go help my dad clean up his basement a little bit

Posted

I think I got about 1 to 2 inches of water in my basement. I'm not sure since I was at work when it happened. My carpet was wet and it appeared that there had been water in the uncarpeted areas. So I spent my day off vacuuming the carpet and buying as many of those Renuz-it air-freshener things as I could because the basement smells musty. Now, I need to get it professionally cleaned. I lucked out though because in some of the other neighborhoods near me got it the worst.

Yesterday morning I set out the recycling containers to get a little rain water in them to soak for a bit. I ended up catching 7 inches of water in each.

My car is still disabled. I had water inside, it ruined mine and Angel's shoes and stuff that we had in the car.
