I beg you all....

No mexican!!!!! For the love of God! If it ain't Taco Bell, I don't want it!!!

Posted

we'll you know I had to vote for taco bell :wink

Posted

Taco Bell, while not exactly mexican, won't tear me up. Y'all don't want to be near me if I'm uh....gassy. My ass is a certified war weapon.

Posted

I totally voted Mexitown......with all this talk of the Bell and all, Mexitown should be a real treat.

Coney at 12 and Main, thats where everyone goes anyhow. The food is good (well decent) and the staff is nice (or at least I know them all).

I voted Greektown, and might I suggest Olympia?

Most people tend towards the more flashy places like Pegasus, etc. Olympia is an overlooked gem.

Their souvlaki is exquisite. Their Greek dressing is the best I've ever had - anywhere. The Pastitsio is perfect. And you MUST start with a dish of their tzadziki on yummy bread. And their avgolemono soup will leave you wanting more, more, MORE!

I love Gyros. And Baklava. I put Feta Cheese on almost anything. Greek is good, and that's why I voted for it.

I voted Greektown

Okay, this is a dinner party we are talking about, so no fast-food (ie coney islands, Taco Bell, etc.). Let's go somewhere civilized and shove in food with Bohemian-esque, snotty abandon and drink every fucking bottle of wine they have.

Brenda says no Mexican, and it's her party, so i guess that leaves us with Greektown or anything else.

I really like Indian curry houses and know a few good ones. I'll suggest either A Passage to India (out in Berkley) or Cyprus (in Greek Town) or maybe even Little Tree (Royal Oak).

Oh, and if you will be bringing along guests, please list how many-I expect there'll be quite a few people interested and so making reservations would be polite, of course. Once I have a number and an idea of where most people would like to go, I'll call and set it up. -I noticed Brenda voted Greektown and her vote carries more waeight I'd say and thus far, Greek is in lead, as well...but i'll give things some more time and see if that changes...

Edit-I spelled weight wrong.

What is the date and approximate time?

Posted

It shall be on Saturday some time (i suspect) in the very early evening or late afternoon. Brenda can probably be a bit more specific than i-

I know she has some earlier engagements and of course it takes a couple hours for boys like me to get ready for City Club, so I figure have it early-ish.

-Or should we all go roller skating?

Posted

You guys buy her dinner I'll be her desert :-)

Posted

lol. Just make yourself a suit of pasty & come along with us-and then whatever happens, happens-

I don't do Indian. I never liked it. Italian, greek, or just plain old American is good.

No. I can't do that. I just can't!

Alright Brenda, let's speed this up then and just make it GreekTown. Can you estimate a time for me, so that i can try to set something up with the restaurant and also so that people will know whether they can make it?

Oh, and I saw one post about the Olympia and I posted Cyprus (which is a Greek restaurant in GreekTown), can we get (from people who plan on attending) reccamendations for places that people like to eat at in GreekTown?

Posted

Oy vey....

I guess I need to consult a few people about this. When everyone goes out to eat before the club, what time does everyone get together? I'm guessing that we're going to Mephisto's before CC. And I'm guessing that won't happen until 10:00pm. Does this mean that 8:00pm is a good time for dinner?? I never go anywhere, so I suck at planning this sort of thing.

Posted

Eight is a nice time for dinner and in GreekTown you won't be too far from either City Club or Mephistos.

-Tentatively eight pm then.

Wow. Such insanity, just because I'm coming up. It's just crazy.

Posted

I think dinner is a very reasonable way to celebrate and you'll probably want to try GreekTown anyway, if you're visiting Detroit-and You're coming here to meet us, so what's so crazy?

Posted

Okay. Greektown. 8:00pm. What restaurant??

Depending on our numbers, I really prefer Cyprus. Cyprus is kind of shall we say "intimate" though-in other words, it's small-ish.

I quoted $7 for a plate of Pastitsio there at lunch time, yesterday in a post-Dinners at Cyprus are a bit more-

-Going back to your post before last, I guess you really have achieved rock-star status, though, haven't you?

We can disrupt Cypress if you want. Excitement is good.

Rock star, my ass.
