I hope I don't end up with any stiffness.  I chauffeured to the DMC yesterday morning and ended up falling up the stairs in the red stairwell from the underground parking lot.  I suppose the lot owner hired a company to repair various steps and their solution was to top them off varying heights of leveled off concrete.

After stepping up off of a very short step, the front tip of my foot kicked the next step up of an odd height causing me to stumble and my other foot tried to steady itself on the next step up which was 1 inch higher than the shorter step I had just kicked and nearly 2 inches higher than the short step that originally caused me to trip in the first place.  I ended up throwing myself down on my knees onto the concrete landing so I didn't faceplant into the stairwell wall that looked like it was coming at me at Mock 10.

Fortunately, for me, all I got was a couple of slight abrasions on my right knee, but I was more concerned about someone falling up those stairs who is not as sturdy as I am.  Unfortunately, we couldn't find anyone to report the incident to so they could create a caution notification for the area.  Everyone there yesterday were either patients, doctors or receptionists and they had no idea what to tell us to do other than that they didn't know how that was handled.

Well, I may have found an internship at a youth runaway/homeless sanctuary. Phone interview is next week.  I'm excited but when she said they may have an opening in advocacy I wanted to say hell yes but our internships have to be clinical even if we plan on doing macro work.

Their birth mother is very petite and, when they were little, they were like little Tamarins when we would run around and play.  Me, being from the generation of a certain era, I nicknamed them "Little Monchichis" (official JPN spelling "Monchhichi").  However, as they started to get taller, "Little" fell off and they've been "Monchichis ever since.

It's my fault.  I could have done something.  He wasn't making sense. He said he wasn't suicidal .

At the end of the day it wasn't your decision, it was his.  You did all you could really since you could have just ignored him.  But I get that feeling because I feel the same way about a lot of things.  Survivors guilt is a shitty feeling for sure.  However if someone makes up their mind there is very little we can do to change it.

You do the best you can but sometimes that still isn't enough.  Then you either learn to live with the choices you made or you let it eat at you.

I've never been one for religion, but I've adapted some things.  One of those is that I hope to have the courage to change the things I can, the strength to accept the things I can not, and the wisdom to know the difference.

You are right and the crisis therapist I called to said that also basically. Also, the serenity prayer is such a great concept.  I don't agree with everything about religion but I think some things are helpful. I try to just think logically about it it can be a little tool to add to our coping toolbox. More of a philosophy than anything.

***WARNING:  TEACHING INCLUDED.  READ AT OWN RISK***

I hate the contempt we show towards each other. How can we honestly believe one person's life is less than another's?  GOD created mankind to Love.  HE only asked that we trust HIM.  HE created us in HIS Image. We are called to Love GOD and Love people the same way we Love ourselves, which is the way GOD Loves us.  Unconditionally.

Who are we to take up a weapon and kill someone just because we disagree with their point of view?  Or don't like the color of their skin? Or got angry because someone looked at you?  Or just because?

The hated spewed throughout the headlines is sickening.  More focused on sensationalism than truth.  Slinging accusations, presenting half-truths and lies as facts.  Tearing one another down.  There is enough pain as it is without us adding to it.

We are supposed to be walking in Love, trusting GOD and helping each other, not proving The Accuser right.

BEFORE THE CROSS

Zechariah 3:1 Then he showed me the high priest Joshua standing before The Angel of the LORD, with Satan standing at HIS Right side to accuse him.

AFTER THE CROSS

Revelation 12:10: "And I heard a loud voice in heaven saying, 'Now the Salvation and the Power and the Kingdom of our God, and the Authority of HIS Christ have come, for the accuser of our brethren has been cast down, who accused them day and night before our God'".

THE CALL TO LOVE

Matthew 22:36-40: to love God with all one's heart, soul, and mind, and to love one's neighbor as oneself.

John 13:34: "A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another; even as I have loved you, that you also love one another".

CLAIMS TO LOVE GOD BUT HATES OTHERS

John 4:20: "If anyone says, “I love GOD,” but hates his brother, he is a liar; for whoever does not love his brother whom he has seen, cannot love GOD whom he has not seen".

1 John 3:15: "Whoever hates their brother or sister is a murderer, and you know that no murderer has eternal life residing in them".

1 John 2:9-11 "establishes a clear connection between true faith and the practice of Love for fellow believers, stating that anyone who claims to be in the "light" of Christ but hates their "brother" (another believer) is actually still in spiritual "darkness" and spiritually blind."
