I can tell when the milk is no longer as fresh when the date gets closer. The FDA mandates that dates be put on things because people are dumb. Really it's a great idea and I like to add the date I bought something too so that I better know when I have to pay the ADHD tax. That said it should just be used as a guideline. Some things you should absolutely avoid using/eating though as they can become dangerous. I think there was a site for expired medications too but I can't find it. This may work as a guide though, but that seems like a lot of data to parse. Really a lot of this is to generate more waste to get you buying replacement products sooner than needed and can be considered as just another part of planned obsolescence. NocteSpiritus Posted August 18, 2023 Posted August 18, 2023 Glad it's my Friday. Got some plans for the weekend.
Scary Guy Posted August 18, 2023 Posted August 18, 2023 My sinuses are acting up due to the rain and the temperature dropping. I hate the cold for many reasons, this is just one of them. I am going to miss those 27 degree nights.
NocteSpiritus Posted August 19, 2023 Posted August 19, 2023 Pretty sure I got a head cold from having the fan on and window open the past few night. Slight fever and barely runny nose.
gwen Posted August 19, 2023 Posted August 19, 2023 I just got called a 'godless woman' so pretty darn good 👍 👌 😍

NocteSpiritus Posted August 20, 2023 Posted August 20, 2023 Tested for covid last night, that was negative. Did two tonight (cuz the first coulda been a false positive), and both were postive. So yeah, after three years I finally caught covid. lol Fever since last night. Minor cough, sore throat, and minor runny nose since today. Still have my sense of smell.

Feel slightly warm, still within normal temp when I did a temp check this morning. Woke with a cough and stuffy/runny nose.
SlavicGoth Posted August 20, 2023 Posted August 20, 2023 Nothing like some saber sparring in the morning sunshine NocteSpiritus 1
NocteSpiritus Posted August 20, 2023 Posted August 20, 2023 And I woke with some poison ivy effects. Not as major as before, but some. My brain is "when did I touch poison ivy yesterday?"
NocteSpiritus Posted August 20, 2023 Posted August 20, 2023 Face isn't bad with the poison ivy rash. Apparently there's some rash on my inner thighs. Don't ask me how, I don't know. I know I shaved last night, so maybe the razor, but the rash would be on my arms and legs (other than the tighs) as well. So it's like, how'd I get this? I did yard work Friday, but the rashes didn't appear until this morning/overnight last night.
NocteSpiritus Posted August 20, 2023 Posted August 20, 2023 Confused and pissed off. I was told by my head chef that I was positive with covid and he told me to come back to work Thursday (basically self isolating/staying at home for four days). My GM for the restaurant tells me I can come back to work despite still having active symptoms. She tells me she emailed hr about the company's policy is different from CDC's recommendation. "Because the CDC's recommendation is what it used to be. It changed in May when the CDC said it's not a pandemic any more." Like I have a cough, runny/stuffy nose, and a minor fever. I'm still contagious. I should not be around people period. I did text someone I know works in the company's hr about it. I don't know about the company's policy. Should not be 1. around people 2. working with food 3. in a major airport.
