[07/11, Mon] Necto Monday July 11th Aftermath

I went. Drama as usual. Tried desperately to avoid it.

Troy showed up as I was leaving.

Went with Headlessgoth, Rambo, darkjuggalette. Met up with DarkPuppy, PaperHearts and quite a few more.

Oi. The bartender Becky, with all the tattoos. She used to dance with me at Deja Vu. We both walked out together a few years back, the next week she started as shot girl at Necto. Can't believe she is still there!

Pulse States show was great! Dj Jinx rocked. I was throughly annoyed by the dance Nazi doing the helicopter and push ups. Geez man make room for the rest of us!

It was good seeing so many of you last night. Really this was the first time I've left Detroit in almost a year...and I haven't decided yet whether it's good to leave Detroit very often. I'm still kind of in shock.

Had a good time. Very little drama. =) Havent been a Necto "regular" in close to 10 years now, but this is what 3 times in 5 weeks? Omg perhaps a pattern is emerging. I think i got drinks for like 10 different people... 5 of which i never saw before in my life hah.

I am half dead though now, hrmm wonder when that whole "start taking it easy" thing i've been telling myself i should do is going to kick in.

I heard a rumor piggy was there but didnt see her (least i dont think i did)

Drama avoidance is a key priority for me over the last 6-7 years. Its a hard skill to master (if not impossible) just have to try and keep it to a minimum. :erm =)

When we were walking out there was a crowd of probably 15 black-wearing folk all sitting on the corner of the street near the parking structure (in front of where kinkos used to be / scorekeepers are) I started barking random silly stuff and lo' and behold... they just chuckled and were nice. Ah the good old days. =)

Becky is a great friend of mine; she isn't just a bartender though: she's now the assitant manager at Necto. She & I worked together at Hollywood Video (which she hated quite a lot, though she loved the people).

Neogoth. I talked to Becky on Mon. She said she is no longer manager. Didnt pay enough for what she had to go through. I love her new tattoos though! That girl is so awesome!

I liked it down there. Hadn't been there in years, quite a different crowd than what I remembered. Nice atmosphere though.

I hated the filter on the movie though, made me kinda sick.

Actually yeah http://www.necto.com but they moved all the gay stuff to Friday and do something different on each night. Monday is the only night I'll go.

They've always done different stuff on each night. And they've had goth night ("Factory Night") on & off again for years too. Actually, when I first started going there in 1994 they had gay/pride night upstairs and goth night downstairs, which was awesome. I sometimes go on gay night because I know so many of the people, but I can't stand the music.

Surprisingly we got there litarly broke and we still got pretty drunk lol. I had fun it was way lot better than last time I was there.

Oh, ditto to all that -- especially going on Fridays even though I hate the music. Well, most of the music. Usually, early in the evenings there's all kinds of 80s synth-pop played in the Red Room.

The "downstairs goth night" ...ah fond memories. Thats when i met jason/neogothboy actually. =) Also where i first got introduced to the "gothy/industro club scene" back in the day. For awhile that was the only place i ever went to club-wise. Hadn't even heard of CC at that time.
