I'm still watching it, review to come later.

Just had to say (in the manner of Indiana Jones when realizing he has to enter a pit of snakes)...

Spiders. Why'd it have to be spiders... :tear :doh

As the end credits start to play and my husband snores beside me...

I read the first Harry Potter book before I saw the first film. I tend to prefer books over movie versions - with certain exceptions.

Harry Potter is one. I just enjoyed seeing the imagery too much the first time, so I decided to just watch the films instead of reading the books first.

I realize I'm probably in the minority on that, yet that's how I come to watch the movies.

I admit, this is another lame review due to the fact that I spent nearly the entire movie on my laptop catching up with DGN. I had to stop and go back to re-watch the previous scene quite often. So my enjoyment was hindered (one of those nights when I just didn't want to do one or the other).

Basically, I liked it. I really like the imagery created for these films. I'm looking forward to watching the 3rd movie, which I have also rented for the next 5 days.

Anyway, my enjoyment was also hindered by the incredibly loud snoring of my husband beside me. Made hearing dialogue really difficult, and again required backing up a scene or two.

Basically, I did like it as much as I could, and do recommend it.

As far as it being a "family" movie (that's how my rental store categorizes it), it had some damned scary scenes that, as a child, I would have been terrified by. See my first post in this thread for an idea.

The plot also got a bit complicated at times. Maybe I wouldn't feel that way if I'd actually sat and paid attention to the ENTIRE film.

It comes with a 2nd disc with extras, which I plan to watch tomorrow.

I haven't read the books. I just don't want to *shrugs* I don't have to, Aym will tell me all about them as she reads!!!

I thought the second was a bit hard to follow. I thought this was because I haven't read the books and know all the history. I had a hard time figuring out about Valdimore (spelling?)

We went to the theater to see this. All 4 of us. I think Michael was 4 years old. He wasn't scared, although I was wondering if he would be ok at bed time. No problem.

I still haven't seen the 3rd movie. Everyone here keeps telling me it rocks!
