Lately I've been an absolute hermit just saying off to pay off debts. but I've been wanting to actually be social a little bit and see a show. I looked aroundnd haven't seen anything interesting or bands I know. anyone have suggestions for any shows that are coming up

I don't know of anything either, but I'm no longer on most social media.

@Serxeraseems to pay attention though, and @Simon Bar Sinisterusually has his ear to the ground too.  Small's usually has things listed a few months in advance.  City will if it's something big, but other than that things can be fairly spontaneous.

It'd be cool if venues had actual websites with RSS feeds of their upcoming events.  Or maybe if the DIAG email list was still around.  Damn you @maurawayfor killing that off, but sadly it probably did need to die anyway.  Too bad she's as dead as that is too now.

I wish the scene was still around rather than being all disenfranchised and moved on.  People got lives, work, families, and other shit.  Well everything has to end sometime I guess.  I still see a good crowd at some shows though but not like it used to be for sure.

Smalls is the place to go. Vision Video, Alter de Fey, Nox Novacula, and Lebanon Hanover are all going to be there in the next two months.

Pink Turns Blue at Smalls September 5th. My friend in Florida is going to be here and I think we're going he loves this band. I hadn't heard of them but it'll be my first time at Smalls if I go.

They're really good! I was just looking at the list at Small's and they're coming the day after Altar de Fey. And I'm not driving to Detroit two days in a row ;_;

And then at the El Club, French Police and Sidewalks & Skeletons are both coming in September. They're both great (and I also won't be seeing either because goddamn i can't keep driving to Detroit).

Altar De Fey was worth it. And they dedicated a song to the Kat from Small's, turns out the singer was a friend of hers.
