RIP Ozzy Osbourne

It's pretty telling how the multicontinental outpouring of admiration of this man has been going on for quite some time now, and was large enough to make people go "Hulk who?"

From a personal standpoint I view him (and Black Sabbath) as one of the original protogoth bands, as they influenced A LOT of the other bands we love.  I remember having Sabbath Bloody Sabbath on vinyl that I robbed from my parent's music collection back in the '90s, and then buying their self titled album at a guitar show for $1 around the same time (in decent quality.) Sadly I think I lost both in the flood of 2014.

I saw him live one year at Pine Knob when he played with Rob Zombie.  I'd heard he broke his leg so he'd be less active on stage.  Nope, he was probably high as shit jumping around on stage like an idiot entertaining all his fans and having a great time doing it.

I can't really say I'll miss him though as the effect he has had on the world was massive and is still ongoing, and we should all be lucky enough to leave such a positive legacy behind after we're gone.
