Homicidalheathen Posted July 19, 2005 Posted July 19, 2005 That sucks. Usually when this happens I don't listen to it anymore for awhile. They ruined a song for ya.....they suck. Scary Guy Posted July 20, 2005 Posted July 20, 2005 Queen - just about anything but mostly Killer Queen, one ex loved them Deathboy - October Braxendale - Music for Girls (nother ex loved that song, ok we'll add U2 and most covers as well). and finally Pain - End of the Line

bean Posted July 20, 2005 Posted July 20, 2005 omg, you crack me up! I don't think I've had a song ruined for me yet.
Fierce Critter Posted July 20, 2005 Posted July 20, 2005 O.k. Major revelation from FC here. I never used to have a problem with Tori Amos. I was on the road to liking her when "Silent All These Years" was all that was out. But shortly after, I got involved with a guy who was TOO into her. You know what I mean? Named his new truck "Tori". Insisted on watching her videos when I was over. Told me once, in an intimate moment, "sing to me in a whisper voice like Tori Amos". Enter my hatred of all things Tori Amos. I also have a problem with certain things she constantly whined about, but mostly, it was that damned guy. So I cannot abide the woman in any way, shape or form now.
Fierce Critter Posted July 20, 2005 Posted July 20, 2005 Another one ruined for me by a guy. I got involved with a very, very bad person once. Turned out to be a pathological lying, criminal asshole. I came home after seeing him one day, to find he'd called my answering machine, and left the ENTIRE recording of UB40's "Red Red Wine" on it. The WHOLE SONG. I cannot deal with that song now. I shook that guy, but never the bad feelings now associated with that song. Shudders.
JaneDead Posted July 20, 2005 Posted July 20, 2005 i have never had this happen to me, thankfully, over a guy. but on the other hand i had a friend who would listen to the doors a LOT and it got me burnt out on them. and this was 17 years ago. omg 17 years ago :doh ok i take all that back... my husband listens to stuff WAY too much and has made me dislike some things i used to like because of this. i really don't like the ramones or social d cuz when he listens to it, and listens to it again, then again, then again... i just want to go insane!! i used to like them years ago, then they were ok to me.... now i just want to scream when i hear almost anything by them and some other bands. so yeah, i guess a guy has ruined music for me! bastard.
krazykittie91584 Posted July 20, 2005 Posted July 20, 2005 this has never happened to either i just dont let any guy close enough to know me or anything about me this way i cant get hurt or have anything ruined in my life thats just me tho maybe just the age i'm at i guess MAYBE it MIGHT change later
Paper Hearts Posted July 20, 2005 Posted July 20, 2005 I feel that way about Underworld - Born Slippy It was/is my ex and her new man's song... I used to really like that song too...still listen to it sometimes...but it brings all these awful feelings out <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Yes there is one song by the Damned that meant something once and it's a bit weird to me now. I know, the Damned, right? Don't laugh...
LuluVox Posted July 20, 2005 Posted July 20, 2005 There are a lot of bands/songs that remind me of exes and old friends, but I'm too selfish to ever give them up; I just reclaim them for myself by listening to them as I please -- damned if I'm going to let someone else ruin it for me.

Fierce Critter Posted July 21, 2005 Posted July 21, 2005 Jon does that to me REAL bad, Dyno. There are songs he will listen to again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again. You get the point. It makes me insane. Particularly when it's groups that STRONGLY bother my ear, like Flaming Lips, Alison Krauss, etc. Gads.
Angel Posted July 28, 2005 Posted July 28, 2005 Make it Rain by Tom Waits... I loved that song, until my buddy got involved in an alcohol induced game of truth or dare in my living room. One of my female friends dared him to get naked, so he decided to do a so very horrible striptease to that song. They all thought it was hilarious, but that song gives me flashbacks.. *shudder* Oh, and that song is now referred to as 'Naked Rain' by everyone involved.. =(
DarkVampire Posted July 28, 2005 Posted July 28, 2005 I won't ever listen to anything from Def Lep's Hystria album since that was her favorite album. These one's I'll listen to because these are bands I like but it brings sad feelings. Gun's N Roses- November Rain, Dead Horse, Coma. L.A Guns- Sex Action, One More Reason.
