In the case of Neil.. I'm not sure you wouldhave to change the lyrics much. Most of his "love" songs are so damn depressing you aghve to hide the razor blades to listen to them.

ELO (been a BIG fan since around '83) - and happy to see others admit to them as well

Cheap Trick - Same thing, same chick got me into them as got me into ELO - I own just about everything they ever did, on vinyl AND CD

Neil Diamond

John Denver

Some 60's & 70's bands like The Left Banke, The Hollies,

Barbra Streisand

Just about anything Movie Soundtrack or Broadway Soundtrack

Sarah Brightman

Coltrane, Brubeck, Miles, Vince Giuraldi, etc.

Dean Martin - BIG TIME

Lots of classic vocalists like Brenda Lee, Judy Garland, Vic Damone, Mel Torme

Kate Bush

Tom Waites (thanks to Jon)

James Taylor

KD Lang

Lyle Lovett

The Monkees - I'm a rare Mike Nesmith fan

Mike Nesmith solo

Journey

Billy Joel (Glass Houses & prior)

Music box music (often on vinyl, wish I could afford one of those platter-style ones)

When I can get to it, international/world music including Polish/polkas, arabic, (east) Indian, etc.
