Shoeing horses: the smell of burned hoof is rank, kind of like croached hair, rotten blue cheese, decaying teeth and manure.

Sawing through bone. I had to cut up beef shin bones for stock using an electric table saw while in cooking school. The stench of the heated bone from the high-speed saw was revolting.
