Fierce Critter Posted July 26, 2005 Posted July 26, 2005 If you see this: Wave a sad "Hi" to him for me. He just left a minute ago, 7:00, an hour later than he'd wanted to. Regional Doppler radar shows he should have a gloriously clear ride at least today and into tomorrow. Oh my god - I'm so fucking alone now...
Brenda Starrr Posted July 26, 2005 Posted July 26, 2005 *Hugs* It'll be okay, FC. We'll make you smile. In between packing and stuff, that is.

Fierce Critter Posted July 26, 2005 Author Posted July 26, 2005 Oakley has been sitting in front of the door like he always does, waiting for Jon to pull up. Been there off and on since 5:00. This is hard. So fucking hard. You know, the only time we've spent apart since we met in April, 1998 was 1 week when Jon had to stay in Florida while I went to Michigan to see my brother/attend his funeral, then 4 days last year when I went up to Michigan to deliver an eBay item (customer paid my way). That's it - 12 days in 7 years. Fuck.
Fierce Critter Posted July 26, 2005 Author Posted July 26, 2005 My meals today consisted of about 15 Combos, some pop, and Hot Tamales candy. Tomorrow, I promise to eat. Maybe I'll make some toast today, force myself to eat it and drink some OJ.
Brenda Starrr Posted July 26, 2005 Posted July 26, 2005 You need to eat. You have way too much to do and you need your energy. It'll all be over soon....
Nienna Posted July 26, 2005 Posted July 26, 2005 Just think about how much better everything will be for you both!
Fierce Critter Posted July 26, 2005 Author Posted July 26, 2005 HOLY SHIT. Jon called a few minutes ago. He's already in Cleveland, about to hit the turnpike! He called for me to check the doppler. Not good. If he had stopped somewhere south of Ohio today, he wouldn't have hit a drop of rain. But he's been drenched for a good part of his leg - we had no idea he'd get that far so fast. And there's a line of storms moving across the turnpike now. He's going to push through, though. With luck, he can make it to my parents by about 10:00 tonight. OMG - I can't believe he made it so quick. I hope he's o.k. in those storms. He's gotta be suffering major deja-vu right now. In 1998, when he came to Michigan from Florida on his little 250cc Honda, he was hit by rain the entire way due to the hurricane that was hitting at the time. At least this time, he's got a much better bike, a leather jacket and full helmet. Thanks, all, for the concern you've expressed here. This is SERIOUSLY helping me. I have other updates, but I want to take care of some stuff and get offline and go eat & relax the rest of the night. Tomorrow is another day, and I've gotta get myself into some kind of routine so I won't go insane. I want to keep up on this in case things just go TOO smoothly and I end up able to come up there very quickly. Fingers crossed...
Fierce Critter Posted July 27, 2005 Author Posted July 27, 2005 Really wish we could edit our own thread titles... Jon's there! He made it at 10:30. Got Pretty wet, but his bag stayed dry due to the waterproof cover I got for it. Worst thing he said is the sunburn on his hands - neither of us had thought of that. Backs of his hands are pretty bad I guess. Thank goodness he made it o.k. Well, my mother dropped a hint earlier today that I might not have to wait until Jon finds a job and rental. No details were discussed, but a door was ever so slightly opened for me to join them there. I easily have 1-2 weeks worth of work here, but that possibility will galvanize me to get things done as quickly as possible. Whew. Tomorrow is another busy, busy day...
