SomeDanGuy Posted July 29, 2005 Posted July 29, 2005 GALAGA! I remember at pizza parties after baseball games, we would play a lot of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles and The Simpsons in groups.
SomeDanGuy Posted July 29, 2005 Posted July 29, 2005 Elevator Action and Spy Hunter <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Oh forgot about Spy Hunter; that was a fun one too
float Posted July 30, 2005 Author Posted July 30, 2005 Heh. There are lots I REMEMBER but either didn't play or care for that much. Remember the Journey game, based on the group? Animated bodies with photos of their faces for players? I didn't like the band at the time, but when I got all fanatical about them about 7 years ago, I tried to track down one of those games and found a few. My sisters and I used to go to Mike & Sylvia's Pizza Parlour & Arcade/Pool hall on Southfield Road in Allen Park. I think they were owned by a genuine couple named Mike & Sylvia, and at one point, I heard they split-up and it just became Sylvia's or something, and turned into a strictly pool hall. Chuck E. Cheez & Showbiz were too freakin' loud & busy for me. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> YES!!!! Journey Rules I am a new fanatic HATED them for years and I DO remember the game
float Posted July 30, 2005 Author Posted July 30, 2005 Elevator Action and Spy Hunter <{POST_SNAPBACK}> ELEVATOR ACTION!!!!

Slept with ghost Posted July 30, 2005 Posted July 30, 2005 pac-man of course any game that was thought up by just looking at a pizza with a slice taken out and managed to help the arcade industry so much can not go without its due credit spy hunter was great as well though i can say i played it in the arcade as much as i did the nes version tekken is 10 years old so ill call it classic same as mortal kombat and street fighter but some of my all time faverites are the konami classics like the simpsons and teenage mutant ninja turtles and i think capcom made it but the x men arcade game was also great
Darque Knight Posted July 30, 2005 Posted July 30, 2005 My all time arcade faves: Burgertime-Who knew pickles were so mean Xenophobe- Star Trekesque Alien hunt Arch Rivals- A 2-on-2 Basketball game where you could punch other players to steal the ball Karate Champ- My first fighting game... FULL POINT Gauntlet - Your lifeforce is running out! Mat Mania- Old School Wrestling I remember a Simulation Station at Oakland Mall when I was a kid but most of my arcade game playing was at Van Dyke Sport Center at 14 and Van Dyke. pomba gira Posted August 12, 2005 Posted August 12, 2005 Pac-Man or Ms. Pac-Man. I kicked ass. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Me too... didn't care for Pac-Man tho, just Ms. Pac-Man (we called it Pac-Bitch as I recall) & Super Pac-Man. There was one point when I just about lived at Pinball Pete's (the EL one, not the A2 one). I would close my eyes at night & see Pac-Bitch patterns running in my head. Also: *Bubbles *That weird one w/the hypnotic soundtrack where you're flying over the Nazca lines... think the name started w/an "X" ? *Tetris, that was much later tho... but it was a stand-up at a bar so I guess it still counts. OK, now we separate the cubs from the elders: who remembers Death Race 2000? Crude black & white deal (think one step up from "Pong") from the mid-late '70s, you were driving & had to run over these little guys ...when you hit one a cross would pop up... then you had to avoid the crosses as well as trying for the little guys.
