Kit Kat P Posted August 2, 2005 Posted August 2, 2005 wishing I wish I could string thoughts like black pearls on fishing line I wish I had the heart of a poet I wish I could arrange notes like like a cacophony of thought I wish I had the windowed eye of an artist but of all of it life is the greatest irony it’s like asking a swallow to drum out the hummingbirds’ rhythm or the nightingale to sing of the mockingbirds’ sorrow and life’s greatest sorrow is this reality singing from the mountain top it’s like the isolation of a crowd merely wishing your perception were as real as they seem wishing your friends were as true as the books you read and your emotions as simple as the songs you listen to dreaming of time you can only faintly remember when innocence was a fact not a mystery or a crime when there was no question of how to be you and it didn’t matter that the world didn’t make sense
