Dollardave Posted August 4, 2005 Posted August 4, 2005 Last night I was able to control my dream its an art called lucid dreaming I heard about it about 10 yrs ago. It was wild cuz I was able to fly and talk to people. Someone hit me up but I told em I was married. Anyways its an odd art everyone said they were lucid dreaming as well that I interacted with so I got somoenes phone number and tried to wake myself up so I could write it down and see if this odd form of communication was valid. I'll let u know. If ur interested in learning to do this just pm or gimme a call on my cell if u got it and I'll help you to control your dreams.
Paper Hearts Posted August 4, 2005 Posted August 4, 2005 Wow, Dave, that's kind of cool. I rember a phone number from a dream I had years ago. It was 1-800-04-DEADGUY. It's not a real number, the theme of the dream was, if you called that number, you turned into a zombie. The number was on this flyer going around this party I was at, in a dream; it was supposed to be for a rave. Do you see? 1800-0-for dead guy.
float Posted August 4, 2005 Posted August 4, 2005 I LOVE that shit Dave I have done it...often...as long as I'm sober I have also had a few sessions in a sensory deprivation tank there is a guy in Cleveland who has one and rents out sessions very cool

Daevion Posted August 4, 2005 Posted August 4, 2005 Sounds pretty cool......I don't know if that kinda thing is for me though...Real like already seems like a dream to me, which isn't necessarily bad....could be like nightmare and that would be worse.
bean Posted August 5, 2005 Posted August 5, 2005 When I stay sober for a long time I lucid dream fairly regularly...it's been a long time for me though.....
Guest Game of Chance Posted August 5, 2005 Posted August 5, 2005 I think there was. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> 976-Evil

A very good friend of mine works down at the DMC in the Sleep Center. They do research on people while they sleep. Her area of expertise is lucid dreaming.
cptdeath Posted August 11, 2005 Posted August 11, 2005 I can allways control my self in my dreams and make decissions here's the kicker. everytime my X girlfriend dreamed about me I could explain what happened and why I made the decissions i did in her dream without her mentioning it before hand. I have allways fucked up the intended game plan of any dream i was in. mine or other peoples dreams. sure would like to list some examples but thats alot of typing. many a nightmare was foiled by my evil. thus doing good. but many dreams that are not nightmares just end up wrong. :fear
Shade Everdark Posted August 11, 2005 Posted August 11, 2005 Fascinating. It would be interesting to try, but I don't dream often enough to practice.
kellygrrrrrl Posted August 11, 2005 Posted August 11, 2005 I cannot recall being able to control my dreams, but I do remember dreaming in color.... Specifically really Green trees, Bright Blue water, and a girls yellow bow in her hair. It is strange because I cannot recall dreaming in any other colors. If I could control my dreams, I would not have dreamt about falling down and not being able to get up, and struggling to get up so hard......then getting up and running, but feeling like your body is 1000 lbs.... I never can remember faces in my dreams either.
holliwood66 Posted August 11, 2005 Posted August 11, 2005 I used to suffer from night-terrors and sleep walking when I was a kid. Part of my treatment was bio-feedback and meditation exercises. I've outgrown the terrors and sleepwalking, but I still can interveine in many of my dreams...especially tramautic ones. Sometimes it is only to wake up slightly to add a needed item into a dream such as a key or rope etc.
sinnaminn Posted August 11, 2005 Posted August 11, 2005 Now that's an ability I truely wish I had! I always find myself making the same bad chices in my dreams.I think the people who achieve this kind of control have a great deal of wisdom!
Moonlight_Phantasy Posted August 11, 2005 Posted August 11, 2005 The only time I can control my dreams is when I'm half asleep half awake. And I tell you, it happens so often I cant remember what is actually dream and what is reality. Sometimes I will go and talk to someone in reality and they look at me funny cuz what i talked about never truly happend. Hell, and this is WHEN im sober.......... Whoa, scary thought, what would happen if I were drunk???????? :confused
SomeDanGuy Posted August 12, 2005 Posted August 12, 2005 I used to control things pretty frequently, but not so often in recent years. Usually when I realised I was dreaming, I would wake up soon after
Marblez Posted August 12, 2005 Posted August 12, 2005 I have a bit of an unusual sutuation. I have narcolepsy and it does some crazy stuff to my dreams. I used to think of it as Lucid Dreams till I was diagnosed. I get Hypnogogic Hallucinations and Hypnopompic Hallucinations. This is where I go into the state of REM sleep when I am drowsy before falling asleep and after waking. I can control aspects of these dreams to an extent as I am actually conscious when they occur. Also due to the narcolepsy, my body does not awaken momentarily to turn off dreams as a normal persons does. So instead of the 5 minute dream that everyone else has, mine last 20 minutes and even longer. People are often surprised how much detail I remember from my dreams - but thats because they last so damned long. Another lovely thing about Narcolepsy and dreaming. I have Cataplexy which is a complete loss of muscle tone (paralysis) during times of extreme emotion. Add this to a hypnogogic or hypnopompic hallucination nightmare and it REALLY sucks. Imagine lying there in bed, you have a nightmare - wake up paralyzed and the nightmare continues. If I cannot control the dream/hallucinations, eventually I just have to relax and give in to the dream and fall back asleep. If you ever happen to be around me when I am sleeping and it appears that I am having a nightmare or are moaning in a not so good way - try to rouse me. This is actually effective. My eyes may even be open but you will have no idea that I am unable to move. I might be staring right at you and screaming your name in my dream to wake me up. This has happened MANY times. Really, I am not a freak. Really!
