Early Morning Meditation

The first hints of sunrise appear -

Robins chatter over morning worms.

The human world around me, silent -

the sounds of nature dominate.

I breathe in the scent of this early time -

It's almost pure,

unfouled by man's inventions.

I revel in this moment -

the calm before the daily chaos breaks;

people simply exhisting in their dream state,

unconcerned with this and that,

in no particular rush to get to places they's rather not be

to do things they don't care to do.

There is a certain quality to this early morning -

one that many never experience.

I wish this could last forever,

but the world is waking up,

so now this meditation must end.
