why do you cry

why do you scream

I see you with the kids

I see you with the children

why do you hit

why do you hurt

why does your mommy cry herself to sleep

why does your daddy walk away confused

little man blue

why did you say that

why did you do that

nobody showed you how to twist that knife

nobody showed you how to shatter those dreams

tucked away behind those collars of blue

nobody will ever see enough to know you

old man blue

silently you schemed

silently you dreamed

you orphaned yourself and

you had yourself put away from society

you made society see a part of you that scared them

you wanted to rule their dreams

so you haunted their nightmares

tonight you'll die your own hero

to you remorse is a weakness, your strength was their sorrow

you'll go as you wanted, alone and strong

defeated only by your own mortality and buried in your blues
