Drugs kill

Ok, so I'm gonna piss people off by standing on my soap box here but the truth is, DRUGS KILL!

SINCE THIS PAST WEDNESDAY, SIX PEOPLE HAVE DIED ALREADY FROM COCAINE LACED WITH STRYCHNINE, IN DOWNTOWN MANHATTAN.

AMONG THEM, WERE TWO 18 YR OLD NYU STUDENTS, AND A POPULAR HAIR-STYLIST NAMED CHRIS, A FRIEND OF MINE THAT DIED IN HIS APARTMENT ON HOUSTON STREET, LAST WED.

THE POLICE SAY ALL OF THE DEATHS ARE RELATED AND THERE ARE MANY MORE DEATHS STILL IN QUESTION SINCE IT STARTED LAST WEEK.

IT WAS IN THE NEWS YESTERDAY, ONLY THEY FAILED TO MENTION ABOUT 20 MORE SUSPECTED DEATHS.

When will people figure that out???????

I'll never understand, I also will never use drugs.

I didn't do drugs for 17 years. I slipped recently. I got some coke (my weakness is meth so I thought I'd be ok) with some very trusted old freinds. It was laced and they lied and knew it. One, with meth....I wanted it the next day and was pissed. I told them that is the one thing I cannot do.

Something else was in it too...I dont trip from coke. And it smelled like meth....

I have only had bad drugs with the sticknine once....some meth has it as they cannot get it all out when making it....my legs cramped for 2 days.

My nose just stopped bleeding and this was 2 weeks ago.

These days....drugs suck. They put K which is something you break into vet offices for...in things....E....I just wanna know what the hell I am doing.

I almost had a heart attack twice that day. :erm

I think I am just too old for this shit anymore. But I get tired.....so.....

Death is caused by swallowing small amounts of saliva over a long period of time.

imho.

or rather to be "perfectly blunt chris" (i seem to be in a devil may care mood today sorry)

people who are on drugs who know they have a problem and seek help are worth helping. those who do the shit for no other reason than its "something to do" and carry on regardless... one less moron in the gene pool.

i conquered my issues long ago, a friend i spoke to recently who i hadnt seen since collage was shocked that i rarely do have any alcohol (just haveto be in mood for it), and didnt take any drugs. "just waht exactly do you do for fun" sorry that attitude this guy had pisses me off. seing my old friends now, seeing thier mind blasted by drugs or liver/kidneys on verge of breaking down if subjected to any more liqour or drugs brought home what a good idea of mine it was to quit years ago.

Coming from someone who was a junkie for 5 years with one of the biggest habbits in all of detroit i can actually agree with you. but then again i am one with personal experience (AND YES EVERYONE, I HAVEN'T USED THE SHIT IN A FEW YEARS). I do however take perscription narcotics but i have also had 3 major surgeries within a 5 month time period for something serious which i still suffer from that is VERY painful. I think that if you ARE going to choose to do drugs that they are either prescribed to you and not abused or if not then they are done in extreme moderation.

It's not the drugs that are killing per se, it's the shit people put in them, no?

Someone told me this thing was happening with the planet Mercury 2 or so weeks ago and that lots of people fell off the wagon....

I wonder if there is something to that....I mean 17 yrs of sobriety for me.

I may do it again once in awhile though...like twice a year. Anything but my trigger drug, which is Meth. I have to stay away from that. I just want to try E before I turn uh....not giving my age ok.

i agree. i also think some drugs can kill you after one time. such as coke can kill you if you have a heart problem, etc. or drugs can be laced with crap that kills you and not the drug itself.

i think in most cases you have to

1. do a shit load of drugs or

2. do them and put yourself in a bad situation

to actually die from "drugs".

i know a hard core drug addict (who's been doing drugs of some sort or another for 30 years at least) and should be dead 10 times over but yet they are still alive and kickin'... on the streets. they haven't died from the drugs but the drugs have taken over their life that's for sure. in the end drugs won't kill them, i think they will either be in a bad situation where something else kills them (they have o.d.ed and not died, been in car accidents and not died, etc) or they will make it out alive and recover. hopefully of course they will recover and make it out alive. :tear

and i agree with T.A. here:

"live your life, your way, accept full responsibility for the consequences - that's all i have to say."

I still wish I knew what someone put in my drink a couple months ago...I kinda liked it.... :erm

Yea tell that to John Belushi and Chris Farley. Just two examples of people that did die from drugs not laced with junk. Oh, and we also have Layne Staley from AIC, heroin it was I believe. I could compile a laundry list of peole that did die from drugs. But, I guess to each their own, why listen to reason when you can get high.

This was not directed at you Jarod.

I know what HW means. Had a group of friends and one of them got deep into drugs, now this former friend avoids all of us even though we as a group always tried to be on the best of terms. What it came down to was that this friend just didn't want to socialize with any of us anymore because we never had any drugs when we'd hangout. We all drink and we never tried to make him feel like he was less than us but that didn't help.

I do miss that friend but there is nothing I could do. And on a side note, my older brother now praises me for not using drugs and wishes he had spent less time getting high and more time pursuing his dreams. There are advantages to staying clean but I will still keep friends that take part in getting high. Just as long as they don't try to get me high, I'd rather have a drink.

Still, you hate to see friends get messed up and lose what they had or who they were. It does have that effect on some and it's heartbreaking. I'm sorry Dark but from what I have seen and exp it didn't look like growing up but more like watching someone lose themself. One friend of mine went to rehab three times to clean up their coke habit, she later said it was the worse time of her life being addited to coke.

Also she didn't just start using coke out of the blue, it beagn with pot. From that I hope my child doesn't begin using pot because someone tells her it's harmless and fun. There are those that get into pot and that's all they use but then there is the other side which is very ugly.

But, to each their own. I stand by my beliefs and I understand that others will too.

Hmmm, interesting...I fell off the wagon around that time, then it led to this whole ooga booga of mental fuckiness, which then led to a downward spiral of things.....

anyway I'm back on the wagon (though I refuse to give up drinking!).

I dont believe drugs kill people. People kill them selfs. Its a choice.  YOU CHOOSE TO DO DRUGS. Everyone has got a choice and dont give me that "addicts dont have a choice" bull shit propaganda .... I know what its like .. Ive been there before. And well my choice was to not throw my life away on a fix. (you like other ppl i know and l have loved) Sometimes love is not enough. Sometimes a drug consumes someone so much that they are no longer themselfs. but thats all a choice soothy .... a choice that they make for themselfs ...

<{POST_SNAPBACK}>

exactly.
