Hi everyone -

I'm new to Detroit - Yep, From Melbourne, Australia...

I'll be here for 3 months on this current work visit. So just trying to check out places and people around here!

Um, so i'm male, 26, and int alternative / goth music and people.

Been searching around and hopefully i'll be able to check out (or just get into =0) ) City Club this saturday. I'm here alone, so hopefully someone here can come up and say hi if they see me there!

Just a general question - In Aus, when going out, i susallg grab a cab, get drunk, have an awesome time, then cab back home.

I've noticed that there are hardly any cabs around here!!! How do you guys do it??

You're in Detroit...the Motor City. If you want a cab, you have to call one.

welcome aboard

I wanted to say most places in general should let you in with just your passport, i would also bring along any other type of identifying material like a government issued id form back home, or your work permit etc..... just make sure it has your picture and birth date. I cant speak for all clubs as some are strict but for the most part as long as you have the proper papers with you and know the info printed on them ( adress height eye color etc.....) you should have no problems. If you do have problems check with the secrtary of state to see if you can get a Michigan state Id or something for use while you are here. After you find ut iff you can get one and go to an office branch it uusally take about 2 weeks to come in the mail.

Any how just some ideas and tips to check in to

Welcome. People are nice on here.

I've been here for weeks and only three death threats.

No, seriously, I hope you're able to see all the nice places Detroit has to offer. (Although according to another thread Royal Oak IS the center of the universe-Luna's a pretty cool place)

Yea the ladies i've met and the ones i've seen on this site seem awesome =0)

I've got a rent-a-car shitbox while im here - beats walking - so thats all good. Only problem is i usually get really drunk when out - So i think i'll attempt to sleep it off in the car park....
