EvilEve Posted September 6, 2005 Posted September 6, 2005 what's the strangest dream that you've had that you've believed the entire time you were asleep was real? flying dreams are one of the few that seems very real, but you don't always have to be flying for fun. sometimes you could be flying to get away from something, or to get to something before someone/thing else does. so tell me, have you been dreaming lately? was it 'real' or not? (i'm nosy, i've made this point countless times before. give me detail. please? i'll be your best friend! *purrs* c'mon, you know you want to.)
Guest Game of Chance Posted September 6, 2005 Posted September 6, 2005 I had a dream last week that I forgot to set my lineup in my fantasy football league... woke up in a cold sweat...seemed so real...lol Seriously though, I had a dream a few years ago that my girlfriend-to-be (we weren't dating at the time) was pregnant by her current boyfriend... turns out she actually was...
EvilEve Posted September 6, 2005 Author Posted September 6, 2005 gotta love those ones where they turn out to be true... :erm well, sometimes....
Vater Araignee Posted September 6, 2005 Posted September 6, 2005 Falling. Is it that because dreams happen extremely fast that the fact that I bounce off my bead means that at one point I was levitating and the dream started when it stooped happening?
The_Dark Posted September 6, 2005 Posted September 6, 2005 During sleep, our brains shut off motor responses... mostly... that way we can run in our dreams and not kick the shit out of our bed partner. Just before awaking.. that part of our brain shuts off and our muscles do whats natural when we are falling to our death... they try to grab something and stop the fall. This sudden reaction casues the "bounce".
JaneDead Posted September 6, 2005 Posted September 6, 2005 i can't say it is really strange but i dream that people have died and it feels completely real. and then in real life - someone does die. (just not the person in my dream, it is always someone else who really ends up dying) last night i had a dream my dog died and we were trying to find a place to get rid of the body :blink and at some point i don't even think it was a "dog" anymore but rather a real "human" body because i remember seeing a face and body like a human. then i ended up at some other place in the process totally ignoring the dead body in the truck ... that was all very odd to me and i wondered what the hell i must have seen yesterday to have a dream like this. i guess over all my death dreams are my strangest dreams that feel totally real. i have had dreams that people were dead but came back and i thought it was amazing and no one else cared or thought it was odd. yet another time i dreamt my grandma (who is really dead) came back and i was like "i knew it! i knew people could come back. what took you so long!" yeah i guess my death dreams are the strange ones. they always feel so real and are usually very odd. everything else is just silly or so "normal" it could be real in real life.
EvilEve Posted September 6, 2005 Author Posted September 6, 2005 i've had all sorts of strange dreams... some involved people/pets coming back from the dead, other had nothing to do with the other, and then sometimes others are one's where i'm scared out of my mind, i start screaming, and no one hears it, even if i'm screaming in their ear. i'm semi-violent in my sleep. i'll either toss and turn for most of the night, or i'll kick/punch. one dream i had when i was younger was this Dr. Seuse(sp?) character was riding on a bike, spinning in circles, and i ended up waking up by kicking my grandma in the side. i felt bad, but i couldn't help it.
JaneDead Posted September 6, 2005 Posted September 6, 2005 the other "strange" dreams i have are ones where i need to run/scream/move/drive/dial a phone number/anything simple and i can't. one time i was dreaming my boyfriend at the time and his friend were beating me with golf clubs but it didn't hurt. then another time after having my son (c-section and i was in a LOT of pain) i was dreaming i was going down a rapid/waterfall type thing and was hitting rocks over and over and over and it hurt like hell. the worst ones are when i am trying to go down stairs but i just end up falling instead. but more like a floating fall, not a tumble. those scare the shit out of me. and then i just sort of land hard. i have a lot of "obstacle" dreams. they are not strange and i know what they mean but the obstacles can sometimes be really weird. (like one was a road that went straight up and i had no way of getting up there though i needed to. or i need to go somewhere but i don't know how to get there and i get lost. or i need to leave somewhere and i don't even know where i am to begin with. not so strange but the places usually are or my reason for being there or wanting to get there is.)
EvilEve Posted September 6, 2005 Author Posted September 6, 2005 personally, i don't like the dreams where i'm "helpless." i understand why i have these dreams, but i don't have to like them.
kellygrrrrrl Posted September 6, 2005 Posted September 6, 2005 I have not remembered a dream in a long time
Head Wreck Posted September 6, 2005 Posted September 6, 2005 erm. i cant remember my dreams at all. i'll get back to you if i suddenly do. i used to suffer from parasomnia when i was young (did the actions i do in my dream) but apparently i havent dont that since i stopped remembering them
JaneDead Posted September 6, 2005 Posted September 6, 2005 i remember my dreams. i remember them for years. i can remember dreams i had as a kid. some dreams i forget but then remember again when something triggers it. even if it has been years. my dreams are like my memories (of actual happenings) that is how much they stick with me.
EvilEve Posted September 7, 2005 Author Posted September 7, 2005 sometimes if the dream is too much (reminds me of something from the past) i won't remember it.. however, if it's off the wall weird, i remember it.
Daevion Posted September 7, 2005 Posted September 7, 2005 none of my dreams come true in the really real world
Soulrev Posted September 8, 2005 Posted September 8, 2005 Yeah I've had my fair share of ultra-realistic dreams where I could fly... Lots of them actually.. I love those dreams though, so much fun :D
